I came into school the next morning with a smile on my face and Brandon leaning against my locker. I guess you can say I had an amazing time last night.

And amazing might just be an understatement.

Barbie decided that Kevin would be her newest victim about halfway through and he looked like he didn't mind being poisoned. In fact, he liked that Barbie sat so close and listened.

Hurley went berserk, having the best time as he put down the weirdest cards that almost always won each round. Brandon had his arm around me the whole time which made me happy for two very important reasons.

A) Umm I've been in love with him FOREVER?!

B) I could see his cards the entire time.

And before he left, Brandon tried to kiss me again. If it hadn't been for Hurley barging out the front door when he did, my lips would've touched his and I would've been his girlfriend.

At least I think that's how things work.

I mean, you don't just kiss somebody and then leave them hanging. That's wrong. And cruel.

But nonetheless, Brandon was against my locker, scanning the hallway for my face until he finally saw mine.

"Hey." He said, shoving his hands deep into his pockets. I brushed my hair out of the way and smiled.

"Morning." I greeted as he let me get into my locker.

"I just wanted to say I had fun last night." He tells me.

"So did I. I always forget how much fun you guys are."

"Well you're quite the entertainer yourself." I pull out my book just as Hurley comes to his locker. Luckily, he's sees Brandon, winks at me and turns the other way.

Thank God, he's getting smarter!

"So did you need something?" I ask. "Or am I some kind of magnet?"

"No, nothing like that. I just..."

Here it comes. The date. The asking. The me saying yes while freaking out on the inside.

"-wanted to know if you had fun."

Oh.

That's it?

"Umm yeah, it was a good time." I say, confused. OUT WITH IT!

"That's all." He laughed awkwardly.

"Say what you really want to." I demand, tired of beating around the bush.

"You're a really cool girl and I think that we make a good match. Would you like to go on a date with me?" He blurts out, his eyes barely clouding as he spit it out.

"Really?" God, I love hypnotism.

"I can't believe I admitted that!" Brandon slaps his hand over his mouth.

"No, it's okay!" I protest as he smacks himself.

"Well...okay. I meant everything but I planned it out a lot smoother."

"Smoother? I thought it was pretty smooth." I giggle.

"I was going to sing to you."

"Oh please do!" I cheer and he opens his mouth. "Not now. Maybe some other time. Like tomorrow? Or on Friday? Or every other day of my life?"

"You got it, Amber." He promised with a laugh.

***

Okay, well it could've been better. I mean, Barbie had it planned out. How exactly she would trap Kevin in her web.
