I put the car in reverse and then made my way out of the school parking lot as quickly as possible. I kept checking my rearview mirror every few seconds to make sure that the car was far gone. The third time I glanced up, I saw it. The black SUV was following me! I started to speed up but was careful not to go too many miles over the speed limit.
I decided to turn down a busy road and then 2 more side roads that led out to another main road. Since he was a few cars behind me, he couldn't directly see my car and where it turned. After I drove for a few more miles, I realized that I really did lose him. Phew.
After about 5 minutes, I pulled into the
driveway of my house. I got out, took my bag out of the back seat, and alarmed my car. As I made my way to the front door, I fumbled for my keys but soon felt the familiar cool metal against my skin. I grabbed them and unlocked the door. I checked behind my shoulder to make sure no one was watching before shutting it behind me.As soon as I was inside, I threw my backpack onto the couch and made my way into the kitchen. I could feel my stomach grumbling as I opened the fridge and the light shined across my face. I decided to grab some fruit and a soda, my favorite. I trudged upstairs and collapsed onto my bed. Heavenly.

Mmmnnnnmmnnnn. I groaned to myself as I opened my eyes and looked at my clock. 9:29! I slept all afternoon! I jolted up and grabbed my backpack to do my homework. I had homework in almost every class today and I didn't want to have been starting it this late.It seemed as if time was dragging. My eyes were so heavy as I glanced over at the clock. It read 4:17. I had one more math problem left and then I could finally go to sleep. I pushed myself to finish and then got up and started to change into my pajamas. Right as I was about to take my shirt off, I felt like someone was watching me. I ran over to my window and ripped my curtains shut. I got the chills all over my body.
Almost immediately after I shut the curtains, I heard rustling outside. I got so freaked out thinking that someone could really be outside. I crept quietly down the stairs and peered outside the window. I saw a shadow. I glanced to the left and then back to where I was looking before. The shadow was gone!
I slowly walked backwards, trying to observe my surroundings. I knew I was getting close to the stairs. But, before I could reach them, I bumped into something. Or someone.
