Ember was alone from the beginning, because he was the only, kit that survived being born. His mother wasn't very fond of him because Ember looked just like his father did. What made it worse for Ember was from the beginning he could tell his mother despised him, but he would never know why, because before he could ask he was abandoned by his mother near a forest. Ember still being the tiny kit he was was lucky to survive a night on his own, because as luck would have it he was the runt of his litter, and he was clumsy which would prove fatal later on. Ember wandered for a few days looking for shelter and someone to care for him, but he couldn't until he discovered the WindClan border
