13: The Battle of Trost - (Part - VII)

[Wound]

CRACK!

The sky split with the sound, as if the heavens themselves were tearing open.

A massive Titan fist came flying-straight at them.

Mikasa's eyes widened. "Ereh?!"

"Shit-MOVE!" YN grabbed her arm instinctively, yanking her away just as the roof beneath them exploded into splinters and debris from the sheer force of the punch.

The two of them rolled across the next rooftop, barely catching their breath as the impact echoed behind them.

Smoke and dust filled the air.

YN coughed, shielding Mikasa as rubble rained down.

He stared through the haze, eyes burning.

That... wasn't an accident.

Eren's Titan stood tall, still turned their way-his expression blank and monstrous.

"...This idiot," YN growled. "He's lost control."

Dust clung to the air, smoke rising in thick clouds from the broken rooftop where Eren's Titan had struck.

YN stood up slowly, blood sliding from the fresh gash on the side of his right eye.

His hand came away wet, but his vision remained clear.

"YN!" Mikasa's voice cracked through the haze as she rushed to his side, crouching next to him and grabbing his arm, eyes wide in concern.

"I'm alright," YN muttered, brushing her hand away. The sting of the wound barely registered.

He was too focused on what just happened.

Mikasa didn't hesitate-her gaze shot to Eren's towering form.

Before anyone could stop her, she launched upward with her gear, zipping through the air until she landed on Eren's Titan face.

"Tch... she's an idiot too," YN muttered darkly, wiping the blood with his sleeve.

"Ackerman, stand down! Get away from him!" Ian barked from across the rooftop, stepping closer to the edge. His voice was sharp, edged with panic.

But Mikasa didn't listen.

"Ereh! It's me-snap out of it!" she shouted, clinging to the Titan's broken flesh.

Eren's Titan responded not with recognition... but aggression.

With a guttural roar, he swung at his own face-WHAM!-trying to crush her like an insect.

Mikasa managed to leap away just in time as his massive fist shattered his own face. Bone crumpled. Teeth cracked.

Flesh tore apart in a spray of steam and blood.

Then-Eren's Titan collapsed with a heavy thud, smoke rising from his slumped body.

YN watched with a clenched jaw, frustration boiling in his chest. Then-

BOOM.

A flare gun fired, the sharp crack of it piercing the chaos. A red flare arced into the sky-bright and damning.

Riko stood on the edge of a nearby roof, arm still raised, her expression grim.

Red smoke curled behind her like a flag of defeat.
