Greetings my fellow wattpaddians!
I hope you are enjoying 'A girl and her camera' so far. I know I'm enjoying writing it. Almost as much as I've enjoyed writing the angel and the rebel trilogy. It's one of the many ideas that have popped into my head over the years, and like the angel and the rebel trilogy, it has gone through a vast process of thinking and planning, and if it survives the intensity that it my crazy mind, it becomes a project. So I guess that all my other, unfinished works are just old ideas that haven't survived the planning process for long enough.
A girl and her camera first sparked up when I was sixteen. It was actually inspired when I rewatched movies like 'The boy in stripped Pyjamas' (If you ever get to, read the book as well. It's a sad story, but brilliant), and 'The courageous heart of Irena Sendler (Based on a true story). And I wondered for a moment, what would it be like if I was a heroine like that? These days, girls either aspire to be a pop-star, and actress (Not that there's anything wrong with that! ;)) or god forbid, a reality show star! And if I thought that my own generation was like that, it frightens me to imagine what the younger generations will be like.
Anyhow, I think it's important to remember what females, and war heroes alike had done for the people they cared about. And in Martha's case, even something as small as bringing food to her friends can be considered heroic. That is why I am passionate about writing war stories, as it helps the reader to imagine 'what if it had been me?'.
Concluding the update, I really hope you enjoy what is to come. The next update will come on Friday, so be prepared! It shall be a goodie.
