To Catch a Killer

Reality

"I'm going to go and get changed now," you said sliding off the bed and grabbing a pair of blue skinny jeans and a white long-sleeved top. You went to the bathroom to get changed and once you came out again L had disappeared. You headed downstairs.

L was sitting in his usual unusual way on an office chair. Watching a monitor. You glanced at the monitor. He was watching Misa's room. She was was fast asleep in her bed. He must have felt your presence as he turned his head round.

"Good Morning to you again (your alias)," he said.
"Morning Ryuzaki," you replied.
"What do you mean again? And who is this Ryuzaki?"
You turned round to see someone sitting at the back of the room. You were sure he had appeared in your dream...
"Matsuda this is (your alias) and she will be working with us on the the Kira case and by again I mean I've already seen her this morning," he explained.
"Ooo, where?" Matsuda asked suddenly intrigued.
"Matusda, I do believe that is none of your business and shouldn't you be looking at the files we've just received?" L replied.
"Oh ok," Matsuda said a little disappointed.
"What should I do?" You asked Ryuzaki.
"Hmmm. Could you look through these files here," he replied pointing at a stack of paper.

You took the pile of paperwork to a desk near the back and started to flick through them when suddenly L interrupted, "no (your alias), come and sit here. I want to know what you think," he said tapping the chair next to him.
You picked up the paperwork and walked to the front. Matsuda watching your every step with a knowing look in his eyes. You put the pile on the desk next to L and continued to flick through them.

"So. Who do you think is Kira then?" L asked.
"Light Yagami," you replied confidently.
"How can you be so sure? As when we had him in confinement the killings kept going," L asked.
"Well, I believe that there is some kind of supernatural force at work. How else would you be able to kill like Kira has been? Just a name and a face to kill, after all. And maybe whilst Light was in confinement he had given his power to someone else causing him to forget everything," you reasoned.

Suddenly L threw himself at you (which surprised you because you were in deep thought) and knocked you off your office chair, causing you scream to a little. He landed on top of you, pinned your arms above your head and crashed his lips into yours. You heard Matsuda laugh quietly to himself. You kissed him back.

Unfortunately, at that moment you heard a group of people enter the room. L rolled of you breathless and said, "(your alias) this is the Japanese Task force."

This time it was real.
