Broken

Chapter Three

[May 4th, 2034]

   Little Adelaine was no longer little. Now 23, and familiar with her powers, she had met a regular survivor named John and they had a child. But they've been talking about the child.

Adelaine: John, we should let her go to the empire. It's better for her and she'll like it.

John: Well, I dont know, Ad. There are more people on this planet and there are civilizations perfect for her.

Adelaine: The empire is our best bet to hide her since what happened a while back.

John: Sure, I guess.

Adelaine looks John in the eye. Her magenta irises scanning his face. He quickly breaks the eye contact by studying her bubblegum pink hair.

John: When I met you I've had the best days of my life, but those days are going away ever since they've created Arena. You're losing yourself. After we send Kay away, promise me that you'll relax.

Adelaine: I'll try.. I guess

John: Adelaine...please.

Adelaine: Okay

Adelaine notices John's growing grin. And gets up to try and back away with a smile. He hops on Adelaine to tickle her and she starts laughing. In an effort to push him back, she accidentally sends him flying.

Adelaine: JOOHHHNNN!!!

Adelaine runs over to John who seemed unconscious, cupping her hands over her mouth.

Adelaine: John?!

John: BOO!

Adelaine jumps backs and gasps as John laughs, pointing at her. Her face resembling a tomato. She starts to laugh with him remember ing how he reminded her of the forest creatures she was friends with when she was little.

[Later that Night]

   When John fell asleep, Adelaine took Kay, her daughter, with her to see an ice sculpture in a grassland of 6 foot grass. The ice figure was of the same boy that saved little Adelaine from Rosinne many years ago. The boy was in the same position for those 16 years but somehow Rosinne was missing from the boy's ice hold.

[An Hour Later]

   When she arrives at a city that seems like an enormous palace, the flowers forming her wings floated away, making her seem human. Buildings that defy gravity, metallic dragons, holographic eyes, and even billboards that show what each person wants made the decription of a palace an understatement.

Adelaine looks at the people who are outrageously dressed. Everybody was wearing giant teddy bear earrings to 11 feet tall heels made of gems.

She goes to the closed door of a 28 story house and whispers to the child.

Adelaine: My name is Adelaine, I am your mother who will always love you. And your name is Kay. Break free of society, be your own person. And when ur ready..come find me. This society..is broken and it will be shattered by the winged, our family will lead a revolution. But remember that John and I love you. 

   Adelaine then walks out of the city with tears on her face knowing she has to do this. But the loud speakers catch her attention.

Loud speakers: I hope you have a good night everyone. Our highly trained soldiers will always protect you from monsters at all times. And I hope you all sleep well, sincerely, the creator of Arena and your loving president, Rosinne Grace.

   Adelaine's sadness quickly turns a confident anger and she quietly whispers to herself.

Adelaine: Watch your back...president.
