*Charlie’s POV*
Everyone but my parents knew, and I planned to keep it that way. What would they think if they knew I was dating the kid who had terrorized me since childhood? Probably that I had some serious issues. If they were okay with me being gay that is. I have no idea how my step-dad felt about gay people.
Isabella didn’t know either-she was to young to understand.
“You’re zoning out” Riley accused. This accusation was whispered heatedly in my ear, so I didn’t mind.
“It’s hard not to zone out when you and Henry are playing COD’ I reply, kissing his cheek briefly.
Henry shoots us a warning glance. Oh that’s right-we’d promised no gay stuff.
When he turns back to the screen I nudge Riley, his cue to do likewise.
“Actually, I was thinking we could go back to my house for a while” he murmured draping an arm over my shoulder. Henry groaned.
“I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that” he grunted.
“Sure” I say, smiling and squinting up my eyes “Sounds good”
“La la la la… can’t hear you” he complains, turning up the TV.
“Hey Henry” Riley teases. When Henry turns he kisses me.
“Gah!” Henry complains, but I just moan into the kiss. When Riley pulls back Henry is completely flushed.
“You two said you were leaving?” he whined. I blew him a tease kiss and watched the red amp up on his face. It was an enjoyable sight until a semi-jealous Riley pulled me into his arms and threw me over his shoulder possessively. “Bye Riley, Charlie!” Henry called, being the one to win the last laugh.
Riley set me on my feet outside and grabbed my hips in a brief kiss. “Those lips are under lock and key mister” he warned. I chuckled and took his hand. We weren’t really paying attention when at the end of the driveway we almost collided with a speed walking Ollie who had a big goofy grin on his face. He was wearing a teddy bear backpack, brown jeans, and a carmel hoodie.
When he saw us, his expression changed from giddy to flustered. “Oh hey guys…”
Riley smiled, unsuspciously. I, however, squinted at Ollie. He was wearing the expression I’ve seen on my own face the last couple of days-the expression you get when you’re thinking about someone who means the world to you. “Hey Ollie” Riley greets “Going to work on the project?”
He nods, a light bulb going off in his eyes “Yeah, what else?” he shoves his hands in his pokcets, eye’s drifting nervously.
“Have fun” Riley tells him, starting to walk. Our hands being joined I sort of have to follow. But I’ll remember to keep a close eye on Henry next time Ollie’s name comes up. Also, I might just have to find out the due date on that photography project.
Inside Riley’s house it smells like pasta. We’re kicking off our shoe’s when his mom moves to stand in the doorway, her dark blue eye’s a mirror reflection of her sons. She looks fretful, and I know she has a guilt complex for not knowing Riley was gay. “Hi Mrs. Fallen”
“Hi Charlie. Are you staying for dinner?” she smiled at me. I smiled back.
“Sadly no, my parents would worry” her eye’s sparkle worriedly.
“You should really tell them Hun, I’m sure they’ll understand” she sighs, eyeing Riley.
“Mom, stop harassing my boyfriend!” he complains. We laugh at him.
