Fairy Tail - Darkness Revived

Chapter One - Almost Easy

"Come on, I'll take you on right here, right now!" Fairy Tail's famous pink-haired pyro announced, standing on a chair with one leg on the table as he stood over his ice-make rival, spitting flames as he grinned.

"Go away, Natsu, I couldn't be bothered with you right now, we're meant to be taking it easy," Gray waved him off, his head propped up on his fist lazily.

"You're just scared, stripper!" Natsu yelled again, trying to provoke his long-time rival.

"Cut the crap, flame-brain! I told you I'm not fighting right now!" Gray took the bait, standing up to look Natsu in the eye.

"Icy-pants!"

"Firebreath!"

"Cold fish!"

"Bet all the fire you've eaten has melted your brain!"

"Bet all the ice you make has frozen yours!"

"Shut up, pyro!" Gray continued the insult rally with the other boy.

"Dumb-sicle!"

"Yeah?! Well- wait, what?" Gray pulled a face, unsure how to respond, and Natsu just grinned.

"Hah! I win this time, numb-nuts!" Natsu flashed his signature grin, and Gray became enraged.

"You didn't win anythin'!" he yelled, diving onto Natsu, knocking him to the ground.

The two began brawling, creating a ruckus as they knocked over their guild mates and furniture as they quarrelled. They were stopped suddenly when Natsu's head hit something extremely hard, stopping both of them as they rolled across the floor. Annoyed at this disturbance, Natsu sprang to his feet and turned to glare at their interceptor, and afterwards he only wished he had seen Gray's grave expression before he had.

"Hey, what's the big idea?! Can't you see we're tryin' to-"

Natsu felt the blood drain from his face as he suddenly felt like he was two feet tall. Staring menacingly at him was none other than the renowned requip mage of Fairy Tail, Erza Scarlet. Also known as "the one who shows no mercy", compliments of their Master.

"What are you two doing?" Erza growled, making Natsu shake as Gray cowered behind him.

"Oh nothing, we're just..." Natsu's mind raced for an excuse, but he was too late.

"Look at how much mess you've made! Who do you think is going to clean all this up?"

"We will, ma'am!" Natsu and Gray chorused, finding they were in each other's arms in fear by this stage.

"Yes, you will. And when you're done you will apologise to everybody you've disturbed." Erza demanded, and Natsu and Gray nodded in unison.

"Yes, ma'am!" the boys yelled again, before turning away to begin what they had to do.

"Man, she's so scary!" Natsu whispered in a lowered voice to Gray as they walked away, and Gray stopped dead in his tracks.

The raven-haired mage knew for a fact that being demure wasn't exactly Natsu's forte. That, and Erza just happened to have excellent hearing. Turning around, the two shook as they saw an enraged Erza closing in fast on them. A scream was all they could let out before she was on top of them.

Lucy skipped happily towards the guild hall, and as the majestic form of Fairy Tail appeared, she hurried a little more, excited to be back where she loved to be. She was but a short stroll away when she heard a mixture of screaming, the clang of metal and loud thumping, and she laughed to herself as she thought, 'Erza must be sorting out Natsu and Gray again'.
