I woke up, yawned, and slid out of bed. My bedroom is at the end of a really long hallway. Coming out of my room my parents room is to the left, then up a little bit is my sisters' room to the right. Carefully I opened the door. As the light crept in I peeked through the small opening.I saw my parents in the kitchen. The were talking about something, but I couldn't quite make out what they were saying. I opened the door a little wider, just wide enough for me to slip through. I tiptoed down the hall until I came to my sisters' room. I was extra quiet when I passed the room because if I made even the slightest sound they would wake up and blow my cover. The way my house is set up is really simple. The front door leads to the kitchen, which connects to the living room, and the hallway is connected to the other side of the living room so you can see right down it from the kitchen. I'm already there, and I can hear almost perfectly now. I crouched down behind the couch and began to listen. "The house is to small," said mom. "We need more space for this baby." More space? Our house is perfect the way it is. What are they gonna do, add more? "I've been looking at houses and there some nice ones in our neighborhood."she said. "OK," said dad. No! We can't move I love this house. I had been listening for so long I didn't realize that the sun was rising, my little sister will wake up any second. I tiptoed down the hall as fast as I could, but I still had to be careful on these wood floors. They creek like crazy. One wrong step and... "Creeeeeeeeek." The loudest creek you've ever heard. Like a scared cat I dashed to my room. I almost made it. Every time It's that darn board right in front of my room. I jumped into bed and pulled the warm covers over my body. "Thump.Thump.Thump."It was my dads foot steps no doubt. Oh crap did he see me? No he didn't, did he? I'm not sure. I just closed my eyes and turned to the side of my bed that was facing the wall. I heard the creek of my door, and i saw the light peeking in. He was opening the door. Crap crap crap, busted, but I don't break the act just yet. He comes in and sits next to me. Then he leans in and give me a kiss on the cheek. "Bye sweetie." he says. Phew! False alarm, he's just going to work. Finally he gets up and walks over to the door. I hear the creek and the light disappears. The cost is clear. I lay there in my bed for a couple of hours thinking mostly. Thinking about the house and my family. My mom got pregnant a while ago and she could have the baby any day now. It's going to be a boy. I always wanted a brother. eventually I have to cut my thinking short because my mom started to call me."Abrianna it's time for breakfast!" "Coming ," I said. I walked down the hallway to the kitchen. Mmmmmmm... the sweet aroma of pancakes filled the air. My mom makes the best pancakes. I sit down at the the table where she has already set out a plate for me. I reach for the syrup and start to pour it onto my stack. Brook and Liz are already stuffing their faces. "After breakfast I want you to get dressed," said mom. "Why?" I said. "Are we going somewhere?" like looking at houses? "Ya," she said. "Where?" I asked. "Somewhere," she said. "But where?" I asked. "Just somewhere OK there detective, now hurry up and finish your breakfast." I finished my breakfast and headed to my room. I opened the closet and grabbed my blue and white striped shirt. It's my favorite. Then i grabbed a pair of shorts and threw them on. I run down the hall and out the door. My mom is already in the car waiting for me. It was a short drive, yet it seemed so far because i knew it could be my new house. We finally arrived, and it was quite the site to see. It was a very nice house, but I don't think I could ever call it home. We all got out of the car and walked up to the house. My mom went up to the door and started to talk to the real estate agent. They talked for a few minutes and then the man opened the door. My mom motioned us to come in. The house was OK I guess. As soon as I walked inside my nose burned. The house smelled. I can't describe the smell, but it was bad. There was a stairway near the front door. I grabbed the railing and walked up the stairs. Brook and Liz were tagging along at the top of the stairs there was an old man in a rocking chair. As we reached the top of the stairs the old man began to say something."Don't by this house." He said. "Why?" asked Brook. "This house used to be a funeral home, and I hear it's haunted!" "Ahhhhhhhhh!" said Brook and Liz as they ran down the stairs screaming. "Come on kids it's time to go home." said mom. As it turned out the house actually was a funeral home. One house down two to go. I did some research and there's only three houses for sale in our neighborhood. That night at dinner mom and dad were talking about names for the baby.after dinner I walked down the hall to my bedroom and laid in my bed thinking and wondering about what will happen next eventually I drifted off to sleep, and when I awake I've got some work to do.
