So did you guess how I reacted? I laughed. Laughed like a madman, you would've thought I had a psychotic break. It seemed like I was laughing for hours, maybe I did. I honestly don't know.
"What? You don't believe me?" He asked, bewildered. "This is just too good!" I cried. "You expect me,an atheist,to believe I'm standing in front of god?!" "Listen, just tell me where I am and how I get out of here."
"You can't leave quite yet. There are things I need to discuss with you." "And furthermore,if you don't believe me I would be more than happy to enlighten you."
"Alright, fine. If you are "God" then who am I? What's my name? Age? Birthday?"
"Your full name is Estevan Ortiz. You're 14 years of age. You're birthday is February the third."
Stunned silence followed his words. Was he the real deal..? No. No way! He couldn't be..why would he want me? If anything I should be in Hell right now. I wasn't exactly the best person in the world.
"Well I suppose I've proved my case. Now then. Moving on to you." "I need your help."
MY help? I don't even know this guy! Who does he think he is? God?..oh. Right. Whatever, besides he's God what would he need me to do?
"I need you to fetch something for me." Alright, fair enough,he's probably busy doing whatever it is God does. Running an errand for him shouldn't be too bad. What's the worst that could happen?
"It's in Hell." TIME OUT. Did he just tell me he needed me to get him something..from HELL?! I don't think so buddy.
"It may sound a bit strange.." "A BIT?" I rudely interrupted. You're asking me to go into Hell and come back, like it was just a cheap gallon of milk!" "Besides don't you have angels that can take care of it? Speaking of which, where are they? I thought Heaven would be full of them."
"Silly boy," he says, "you aren't in Heaven." "Right now we're in Purgatory."
"Purgatory?" "Funny,I always figured I'd go straight to hell." "Oh don't worry", he says. "You'll be going there, but I feel you deserve to know something." Little old me? Getting a message from our lord himself? This should be good. "It's about your cousin.." He spoke with so much hesitation now. What was eating him up? "Marie..she..wasn't accepted into Heaven." Heavy silence. Finally I speak. "...no. No. No no no. NO!"
"Steve I know this hard, just please lis-" "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN SHE DIDN'T MAKE IT?" "IF ANYONE SHOULD BE HERE,IT'S HER!" "I sent her into Hell as an incentive for you." "Incentive?! You sent an innocent person to an eternity of damnation!" I was so angry,if he wasn't God I would've killed him. "That's exactly why you're going to get her, along with the other thing I need you to retrieve for me."
"You're..insane." "If you want her in Heaven you will do as I say."
"You will make your way to Hell, get Marie, and from there pick up another special someone." "Do that and i'll put Marie in Heaven." He acted like it was just me fetching him a fucking coffee.
"..fine," I finally say. "I'll do it." He obviously looked pleased. Oh well..it's for Marie,I'd do anything for her.
*Author's Note: I was just wondering, what did you think of the dialogue in this one? Any ideas on how to make it better?
