"Ms. Olsen is going to burn down the whole dern city one day." I mumbled to myself. Ms. Olsen is an elderly lady that lives a street over from us and she has almost burned down her house four times. Four freaking times! I'm honestly surprised it's taken this long for it to go up again. Good thing we aren't her neighbors.
I turned the corner into our street and my heart stopped along with my breathing, my house was engulfed in flames. I uttered a cry as I started running as fast as I could to get there, people were standing about one hundred feet away by officers keeping them back. I shoved through the crowd to end up in front where a young officer intercepted my path and held me back.
"That's my house!" I was screaming and struggling against the officers hold on my shoulders.
"Miss I can't let you pass-" he was cut off by an older officer. "Miss please come with me." He said in a kind but harsh voice, he grabbed my upper arm and led me towards my already skeleton of a house. "Where's my fam-" I stopped when I saw the paramedics rolling four carts with black body bags holding four bodies. And I A. Felt numb. I hadn't noticed I stopped walking until the officer looked down at me with a horrified expression. I began running towards those black bags.
I stopped right in front of them and a second later the officer was right beside me panting from the run. "It can't be them..." I said aloud, B. Unbelieving.
"Tom are these bodies recognizable?" (AN: Don't know if they would do this.) The officer asked. "Hardly, but yes sir." Tom replied. "May we please identify them?" Tom gave me a sad look before he gave a slight nod. He then unzipped and pulled down each bag a quarter of the way revealing faces I immediately recognized even though they were burned and cut.
My eyes landed on the cold and lifeless body of my father, James Fredrick Gibson, then my mother, Elaine Cunningham Gibson, sister, Hannah Elaine Gibson, and lastly, Hannah Grace Gibson.
I C. Screamed and D. Fell on the ground crying. I was completely alone.
