Being 15 wasn't all that easy. Boys were always in my face. I know they didn't like me because of me, so I tried to stay away from them. But in the summer of this year I met a boy, Aiden. He was always so sweet and so nice to me. I remember this one time it was raining, so he gave me his shirt to put over my head, so I wouldn't get my hair wet. I know it sounds like a scene from a movie, but it's true. He's really just that sweet. And that shirt smelt like a dozen flowers. I loved it. He walked me home everyday at the of camp. At camp I also met 3 girls named Mona, Alex and Cam. Mona was the loud one. She could go on and on about what whatever it is she wants to talk about. Alex was the sarcastic one. I'm surprised her and I were able to behold a friendship. And then there was Cam. Cam was gay. She was always distant from me and the other girls. I guess she had a lot on her mind considering her parents didn't know about her sexuality. I tried to help her come out of the closet one day, and she got really mad at me. I was just trying to help.
When Aiden walked me home from camp one day, Carly didn't say hi. She didn't say anything. She always greeted me when I came home. "Hi Carly," I said. "So you got a little boyfriend?" She asked. When I told her he was just a friend, she told me that he doesn't really like me, and all he wants to do is use me. I ran to my room. I expected her to run after me with a "I'm sorry" or a "Wait Brittney I didn't mean it." But she didn't. I felt so alone that night. Carter told me to come in his room. Yes, his room. Jace went off to college. I missed him so much. He didn't call for a month. I figured he was upset with mom, because I knew he would of called sooner. When I went in Carter's room, he talked to me about Aiden, and said how he does really like me and not to worry about Carly because she is just adjusting to life after rape. I listened to Carter. The last day of camp I asked Aiden how he felt about me. He said he liked me a lot. I was flattered. Even more flattered when he walked me home later that day and kissed me. Right on the lips. "Don't forget about me Aiden," I said. He said he wouldn't.
When I walked in the house, Carly ran up to me. I thought she was coming to give me a hug. BOOM. She punches me in the face."You nasty girl!" She screamed. I remember pulling her hair and slapping her back. "How could you? How could you Carly?" I was screaming. Carter caught me when she was about to slam me into the wall. I was crying on him."She changed so much Carter!" I weeped. Mom wasn't home of course. She was out getting drunk. Carter was the only one I could talk to. Jace was gone, Carly wasn't there for me anymore. I didn't know what to do. The next day I met up with Aiden, and the first thing he said was "Whoa what happened babe?" I loved when he called me babe. When I told him what happened, he was in complete shock. He even bought me a pack of frozen peas from pathmark. I loved Aiden. He made me feel so special. When he took me home, Carter was sitting in the living room arguing with mom. He never argued. "Why would you send her there?!" He yelled. I was so confused. He yelled at me. "Go in your room Brittney!" I went, crying. He came in and explained what happened. Carly was sent away.
