In the festivities that today is my birthday, I decided to (finally) update! I've missed you all so terribly.
As I ran out of the class, I spotted Annabeth by the school's entrance. I walked up to her and bumped shoulders with her. She turned around with a scowl, but when she realized it was me, her face pulled a wide grin. I giggled as she gave me a quick hug. Annabeth walked with me to my car since she got a ride from her mom this morning. As we were walking, we laughed aloud talking about what happened at lunch when Logan tried asking out Natalie Moore, some girl from his calculus class. I knew that Annabeth has a secret little thing for him, but I'm probably going to call her out in it later.
"Are you going to stay for dinner?" I asked as we pulled out of the student parking lot and headed towards my house.
"Yeah, I'll just text my mom," she replied getting her phone and tapping away at it. After ten minutes, we pulled into my driveway and I shut off the engine. We both grabbed our bags and made our way to the front door. A loud roar came from down the street as I was unlocking the front door.
"Oh my god!" I hear Annabeth squeal beside me as I'm trying to get the stupid door unlocked. She begins hitting my arm continuously and I lose the grip on my keys and they fall. Sighing, I pick them up and turn towards her.
"What is it?" I asked, putting my hands on my hips.
"You never told me Mr. Hot Stuff lived across the street from you!" She screeched. I looked over and there he was getting his things out of his car. He looked up and caught my eyes. He waved with a smile and I nodded curtly while Annabeth waved frantically at him. He then walked towards the door of his house as I went back to getting mine unlocked.
We finally got in and walked towards the kitchen. Annabeth sat on the barstool as I rummaged through the pantry and fridge for some snacks. After getting a family bag of Hot Cheetos, a pack of Oreo Thins, a few bottles of juice, and a bag of Hershey Kisses, we made our way up to the study room. We threw our bags on the floor near the couch, and set the food carefully on the coffee table in front of us. I grabbed the remote control and turned on the television, scrolling through my recorded shows and settled with American Horror Story: Hotel. Annabeth grabbed the pack of Oreos while I took the Cheetos, eating and watching the Countess and Donovan kill the couple from the movies at the cemetery.
After resting for a bit, Annabeth and I finally got down to work. We sat at the table with books sprawled out and laptops in front of us. I grabbed my glasses and set them gently on my face as I scrolled through websites that'll help me with the homework. Annabeth frantically tapped my shoulder, whining like a five year old who wanted the latest toy.
"Yes?" I chuckle turning towards her. She pointed down to her notebook and I looked to see that it was a math equation. She groaned in frustration and laid her head on my shoulder. I wrote down the problem and showed her the steps one by one, labeling them as well.
"Oh my god," she shouted out, making me flinch and look over at her with wide eyes," I finally get it! Thank you, you nerdy nugget." She embraced me in a bone crushing hug and ruffled my hair. When I finally pushed her off, I huffed while fixing my hair and glasses. I lightly giggled and grabbed my phone as it dinged. I read the message and it was a text from my mom saying she wouldn't be home tonight since she had to work graveyard hours at the hospital tonight and that my father was out on a business trip. I squealed with delight which made Annabeth turn towards me with a confused look.
"Mom won't be here and neither will dad because work," I explained,"so sleepover?"
"Sleepover," she confirmed.
We finished our homework after three hours and began to walk down the stairs into the kitchen. We tossed the wrappers of destroyed snacks and Annabeth sat on the counter while I rummaged the fridge to find something to make for dinner. After about fifteen minutes of searching, I grabbed ingredients to make fettuccine alfredo pasta. I played some music as I began to cook with Annabeth. We laughed aloud and swung our hips to the beat of the music.
A knock interrupted us, so I left Annabeth to man the station as I checked to see who was at the door. Annabeth said a funny joke which caused me to giggle uncontrollably as I swung the door open.
"Yes?" I asked chuckling. I then turned to see who was at the door and surprise surprise, it was Liam. He smirked as he leaned against the door frame with his hands stuffed in his pockets and his sleeves of his button up shirt rolled up to his elbows. His hair was slightly disheveled but it looked good.
"Ahem," he cleared his throat, making me jump and quickly look up at him. I blushed slightly as he peered down at me with an amused smile, "Your mom wanted me to checkup on you guys as she is working the graveyard shift tonight. So with that being said, are you girls okay?"
"W-we're fine. Um, just making dinner. W-would you like to stay for s-some?" God damn it, why the hell am I stuttering so much?
"Sure, why not. Sarah's out with some friends and I'm quite bad in the kitchen," he whispers in my ear as he walks through the threshold. A few shivers ran down my spine as I closed the door an began to retreat back into the kitchen where Annabeth was stirring the noodles.
"Marce, who was at the d-" Annabeth froze as she turned around expecting me, but was faced with an amused looking Liam leaning on the kitchen's entrance, "Mr. Lachlan what a- hi hello." She waved then looked at me wide eyed.
"Oh um, Mr. Lachlan was asked to, I guess, babysit us by my mother. And I asked if he wanted to stay for dinner," I waved off, as I walked deeper into the kitchen to stir the white sauce. She nodded in understanding and began to continue cooking the pasta.
"So ladies, what are we having?" Liam asked as he sat on one of the barstool at the island counter top, looking at what we were cooking.
"Fettuccine," I replied, stirring the pasta in the sauce, "which is now done." I smiled. Everyone grabbed a plate and walked towards the dining table.
Well this will be interesting.
okay, so today's my birthday and I felt the need to give you guys a gift as well. So if any of you are still following along with me on this adventure, I hope you like this chapter and will continue this journey with me.
