Chapter 26

Recap

The doctor came through the double doors making their way to us making us stand up.

"How is she?" I ask as soon as he was by us.

"You're here for Nikki Addison right?" He asks. And we all shake our heads vigorously. "I'm afraid I have some bad news."

Louis' POV

Tears started to fall from my eyes. She can't be dead. She just can't be. I refuse to believe it. I won't be able to live without her.

"She lost a significant amount of blood. So she is sleeping right now and might now wake up for a couple of days." The doctor spoke.

"What do you mean by she won't wake up for a couple days?" I ask.

"Well since she lost a lot of blood we have to give her the blood that she lost back. Her body completely shut down with the loss of blood. So until she gets that blood back she won't wake up."

"So she's like in a coma?" Liam pipes in.

"Pretty much. Depending if her body accepts the blood she will wake up in no time. But if her bash declines the blood, it will take her longer to wake. So far she's doing great. We had a slight problem in the beginning, but she's good so far. You guys can see her, but only one of you are allowed to stay. So decide that between the three of you and you can go in." The doctor says and walks away. Lottie and Liam decided that I should stay with her and call them if anything happens. We walked in the room to see her lifeless body. It broke my heart to see we like that. I can't believe that Zayn actually did this to her. I walk up to her and sat down in the chair by her bed. I grabbed her hand in mine and kissed the top of her hands letting my lips linger for a little longer. She was so cold. Tears were falling slowly. She didn't deserve any of this. She didn't do anything wrong.

Liam and Lottie left soon after that leaving me with her alone. I kept a firm grip on her hand not wanting to let her go. I will never let go. I will never leave her side until she wakes up. If I have to stay awake for weeks, I will. I will pretty much do anything for her. She is my life now. I can't live without her. All you can hear in the room is silence besides the beeping of the heart monitor. I stood up and kissed her on the forehead before sitting back down. I just started between her and the floor. The nurse came in every two hours checking her vitals and asking me if I wanted anything to eat, declining every time. I was too depressed to eat. Plus I wasn't even hungry.

The nurse did that 3 times already. My eyes were starting to get droopy but I couldn't fall asleep. I didn't want her to wake up and me be asleep. I have to stay awake for her. I did like a rotation with my eyes. I would look at Nikki for 5 minutes and look at the floor for 5 minutes. And I would kiss her every now and again. I would also say how much I love her and how I will be right here when she woke up. I was looking at the floor when her heart monitor started going faster. I snapped my head up at her seeing the heart monitor going faster than it should. I rush out the door and grab a nurse to help. She calls her doctor and he quickly arrives within seconds. The doctor, 3 nurses and I walk back in the room. Her heart monitor suddenly stops. All we can hear is the elongated beep and we see on the screen that there is a flatline.

~Nikki's POV~

All I could see was darkness. I could feel a hand on mine. I tried to open my eyes but it was impossible. I couldn't move. I was paralyzed. I could hear a really loud beeping sound. Was I in a hospital? Wait I remember Louis saying that Liam and Lottie was going to sneak me out and take me to the hospital. I could feel something on my forehead every now and again. And I could hear what sounds like someone talking but I wasn't really sure. If it was I couldn't make out what they were saying. It sounded like mumbling to me.

Suddenly I see a bright light. The beeping went away rather quickly. It felt like I sat up and turned to my right seeing someone run out of the room. And with my curiosity I went and followed. I stood right next to the person that was in my room and looked at the nurse the person was talking to. The nurse then ran to a phone. I took this time to look at who was in my room. It was Louis! He was in my room this whole time! He is the sweetest. This is why I love him. But why hasn't he noticed me yet? I am standing like in front of him. As I was about to hug him he ran back into the room with a doctor and 3 nurses. I went back in the room to see what they were in a hurry for. When I was in the room I covered my mouth in my hands when I see my body lying on the bed and the heart monitor showing a flat line! Am I dead! No I can't be! I have the rest of my life to live. I want to be with Louis!

"Get him out of here!" I hear the doctor yell to one of the nurses. Louis was fighting to stay in but was eventually behind a closed door. I went out and stood right in front of him to see him and his eyes were red and puffy. He was crying. He pulled out his phone and held it to his ear within second.

"Hey. Um is he with you?...Good...Well um she's flatlining and I'm scared out of my mind right now...Yea they're working on her now. Just hurry." And he hangs up the phone crying even harder than before. He hung his head low looking at the floor.

"Don't leave me Nikki. Please. I need you. Please don't go. Don't leave. Stay with us. You're strong. I know you are. Hang in there. Come back to us. I love you with all my heart." When he said those last words he looked straight into my eyes. I felt like I was crying. I couldn't do this to him. He's been through too much already. I ran back into the room and just jumped.

~Louis' POV~

"Don't leave me Nikki. Please. I need you. Please don't go. Don't leave. Stay with us. You're strong. I know you are. Hang in there. Come back to us. I love you with all my heart." I said as if she was right in front of me. It felt like she was. The doctor came out with 2 of the 3 nurses with long faces. I immediately start to get weak in the knees and start to cry even harder than I already was. 

"I'm sorry mate but-"
