I stood, observing the weather of California. It was summer, which meant it was hot and dry here.
I gazed at the building which held the door to my apartment, which was now going to be my paradise. It was a tall, beautiful and decent-looking building, painted white and a little shade of dark blue. It felt good to finally have my own place. I could do anything I wanted; I can eat M&M's every time I want! Now you must be thinking, 'But Aria, you can eat m&ms back home too.' Yeah, I know BUT now I can eat m&ms for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Cool right? Also I could practice the 'whip'. I know you must be wondering the same thing, but you can practice your whip alone with no one to judge you and make you feel embarrassed. Imagine you practicing the 'whip' in your room and some one opens your door and sees you 'whipping'. HOW EMBARRASSING! And not to forget you can take selfies anywhere and anytime without looking like an idiot.
I grabbed the handle of my suitcase and went in. I asked the doorman, Tony (well, that's what his badge said) for the keys, and headed up for the 3rd floor. The floor had around 15 doors all opening to different apartments. I searched for mine, APT 45.
"Hey!" I heard some one yell from the end of the hall as I was about to open my door.
"Hi," I turned around and smiled
It was a girl with short, dark, chocolate brown hair, brown eyes and I guess was the same height as mine. She was wearing ripped jeans with a white top with the words "Coffee" and black vans a long with a studded snapback and a black handbag.
"My name is Andrea Russet," she introduced herself, extending her hand towards me.
"Aria. Aria Prescott," I shook her hand
"I haven't seen you here before. Are you new here?'
"Just moved in."
"I see. Where from?" She asked
Too many questions.
"Houston," I passed her a small smile
I guess she was trying to have a talk. I wouldn't have minded it but it was awkward.
"Want to come in?" I offered, trying to be nice
"I would love to!"
I unlocked the door and we went in.
I was so happy that the house was already stalked with furniture and every thing was in place. All I need to do was get some grocery and I would be fully settled then.
"Nice place you've got here," Andrea commented while looking around.
"It's nothing, really. I still have to decorate it."
An awkward silence followed.
"I would offer you something to eat or drink, but I have nothing at the moment. I have to go grocery shopping," I said, breaking the silence.
"No problem!"she giggled. "In fact, I have to go grocery shopping myself. We might as well go together? "
"Of course!" I exclaimed. "I would like some company"

We came back to my apartment with hands full of bags filled with grocery. We put them down on the kitchen counter as soon as we got inside. We dropped ourselves the couch and started laughing. First day in California and already have a friend. We got to know each other better while shopping. It turns out she's a Youtuber, too! Only bigger than me with millions of subscribers. Wow!
I took out my camera and set things up. Andrea had agreed to make a collab with me so I tweeted out, "filming a collab *surprise guest* roll in some questions for a q&a!"
