A\N: The above picture is of Princess Elisa Valing when she is 18 yrs of age.

10 years later

"What? Are you serious?", exclaimed the princess." He actually said he would marry you?"
"Well, he implied it", shrugged Jade.
" What were his exact words?", asked Elisa.
"He said, and I qoute, 'We will buy a bigger mansion once we are married'", replied Jade.
"Oh My God!!! That's amazing, Jade!", squealed the princess.
"Yeah, it is.", smiled Jade.
They both turned to the pond in front of them and threw bread for the duck and its ducklings to eat.
The princess could not stop thinking about Jade and Jared. Jared was Jade's mate. It was something that happened in Vampires (and Draculas-she had heard). It was called Yeelding. It was when 2 mates saw each other and were...bonded, you could say. They were, like, chosen for each other, or something like that. Jade and Jared had seen each other in an official dinner party. And were instantly yeelded. Jade was 17 then and Jared was 18, an year back. People usually yeel after the age 16.
The princess had not yet yeelded. She couldn't help but wonder what her mate would be like. Seeing all her peers yeelding, she was highly disappointed at herself. And for some reason, she held herself responsible for her late yeel.
" Maybe I should head home now, Eli". Jade broke the silence.
"Awwww... Can't you stay over for the night?", questioned Elisa hopefully.
"No, you know how my dad's mood swings are.", said Jade.
"Yeah, don't want to upset him, do we.", said Elisa.
Jade nodded sheepishly.
"Well, see ya!", she said.
And with a hug, she left.
The princess turned to head back to her room. She walked through the long corridor that led to the main staircase. This part- the left wing- of the mansion held all the important rooms such as the King's office, conference halls, the huge library and other rooms which held no interest for the Princess.
As she passed the King's office, she heard her mother worried voice from inside.
She paused. Wanting to find the need of the worry, she walked to the door of the office. She was stopped by a guard. Off course, no one was allowed to enter the office unless the King had summoned them or if they had an appointment.
"I need to see my father", said Elisa to the guard, with as much authority as she could muster.
"I'm afraid, you can't, princess", replied the guard.
"Let me in...", she read his name tag," ...Arnold, or should I report you to father?", she threatened. "I'm sure you don't want to lose such a well payed job"
Arnold hesitated, but let her enter the office.
The interior of the King's office was just how you would imagine a King's office to be. A huge mahagony desk sat in the middle of the room. Two of the huge walls were red while the other two were white. The floor was carpeted in rich red velvet like the color of blood. A huge chair sat behind the desk which was staked with files and papers, which Elisa found strange. Never had she ever seen her father's desk in such a mess.
Beside the desk stood the King himself in all his glory.
He wore a suit. Even with his tired-looking face, he still looked dominating and dignified. His red eyes softened when he looked at his only daughter and heir, Elisa.
The Queen stood beside him. She wore a light blue dress that reached her knees. Her hair were a little disturbed like she had run her hands through it a little too much.
"Elisa?", she asked.
"Yes mom, its me!", Elisa replied. "Everything OK?"

"Oh yes, honey. Why do you ask?", the queen questioned. She glanced at the king.

The princess hesitated. Maybe she just imagined it, she thought. Maybe everything was alright. even if it wasn't, she was not going to force her parents to tell her what was wrong!

"Nothing mom. I'm going to my room. Don't worry, I'm fine". Elisa smiled reassuringly.

She went up to her room and sighed. She really wanted to find her mate. She wondered for the nth time who her mate would be? How would he look? Where he is? Why couldn't she find him?....

She sighed and went to go take a bath. Just as she got dressed for bed, the butler, James, brought her dinner to her room. She politely declined the dinner. She just wasn't in the mood. She felt too tired to eat or read her novel which she read every night. She slipped into a dreamless sleep, yet again, hoping to find her mate soon...
