The sun melted into a honey-gold canvas as the van skidded to a stop near a sprawling seaside villa, nestled between dunes and palm fronds that rustled like whispers of excitement. The sky stretched wide, painted in watercolor strokes of peach and lavender, while waves crashed in rhythm like background music for a long-awaited summer escape.

Miyamura's POV

I swear I’ve never seen the sea look this damn romantic.

The sky was already deepening into a purple blush as we pulled up to the villa—a beachside wonder with glass walls, open terraces, and the kind of luxury you only see on posters for dream honeymoons. Waves crashed just beyond the property line, salt clinging to the air like a kiss you didn’t ask for but wanted anyway.

I stepped out, bag slung over my shoulder, and the first person I looked for was her.

Y/n was standing by the van’s trunk, dragging her duffle out, hair wind-tossed, sunglasses perched in her hair. She looked like summer incarnate. Wild. Soft. The kind of beautiful that made my chest ache. And when she turned to glance at me—teal bikini strap visible beneath her cover-up—I forgot how to walk straight.

“Staring like a creep at your girlfriend..tch tch. I expected better from you,” Haru muttered beside me with a smirk.

“Shut up,” I muttered back.

The room situation was chaotic as expected. Ren was loud. Kyoko rolled her eyes at something Yuki said I guess. Remi was already claiming the best balcony for her “sunrise reels.”

Y/n got a room upstairs with Ren. I was just a wall away.

The day spiraled into sunscreen wars, volleyball with too much flirting and way too little skill, and the kind of laughter that left your ribs sore. Every time Y/n touched the ball, my eyes found her. Every time her laugh cracked the sky, I felt a little more like home.

But night… night was for more than crashing waves and good moods.

Night was for heartbeats.
Plans.
And the moment I would finally give her the thing I’d been hiding with me for days.

Y/n’s POV

The party bloomed like spilled perfume—music thumping against the villa’s walls, laughter weaving through every open door. The fairy lights outside flickered softly, casting everyone in golden blur. Sengoku was already tipsy. Haru was dancing with Ren like he was trying to summon rain gods.

I leaned against the railing, soda in hand, watching it all glow.

Then I felt him beside me.

“Hey,” Miyamura said lowly, his fingers brushing against mine on the balcony rail.

My heart already knew that voice. The tone. That sweet, stupid shy smile he tried to hide.

“Wanna go for a walk?” he asked. “Just us. Beach. Stars. Me saying nice things about you to you.”

I smiled, warmth blooming behind my ribs. “I’ll grab my jacket.”

He nodded, waiting just outside the hallway while I jogged upstairs.

But when I came back down, I stopped.

Kyoko was there. In front of him. Hair messy, drunk eyes locked on him like she was seeing something from years ago.

“I've been in love with you since the day I saw you, you know?” she whispered, swaying. Her voice was too soft for the music but loud enough for the universe to hear. “I never got to tell you. I thought maybe if I didn’t say it out loud... it wouldn’t be real.”
