Even though the sun was shining and the sky was a clear blue, Alicia Green knew something was wrong; she knew something was wrong long before her aunt showed up at her best friend house with her red puffy eyes and running make up.
"Alice ... you're aunts here" Called Mrs.Ellison, Alice's best friend Martha's mother.
"Auntie Nina, what are you doing here? What's wrong?" Asked a slightly worried Alice who had never seen her aunt cry, even after her grandfather had died.
"Alice we need to talk about something, just you and me, and you'll need to sit down" " Why?" "Just sit down" Ordered her aunt with a very firm tone.
Aunt Nina was a tall woman with a round shaped head full of dirty blonde uncontrollable hair, she had a very thin nose which was completely out of proportion with the size of her head and had piercing grey eyes. She looked exactly like Alice's father except her fathers eyes where a soft, caring grey. Aunt Nina was the oldest out of five children, Alice's father, Scott, was the youngest but got on the best with her. She was unmarried, had no children and spent all her time finding out more about magical creatures.
Alice's fathers family came from a long line of wizards which allegedly went back to Godric Gryffindor himself so everyone on that side of the family was in Gryffindor, Alice's mother, Lydia, was a half blood who had been in Ravenclaw. Her parents met at the Ministry , where Alice's father was working with Lyall Lupin at the Department of Regulation and Controll of Magical Creatures and Alice's mother was training to become an Auror. They then later moved back to Lydia's home town in Scotland where they had twin girls Alicia and Dawn and then six years later had another daughter called Rachel, who had recently celebrated her first birthday.
Alice sat down in the nearest chair to her and stared right into her aunts eyes. She stared right back.
"Alice I know this might be hard to understand, but last night your family was attacked" she stated rather bluntly.
"Pardon?" Asked Alice. She may have been seven but her parents raised her to have good manners. "Are you hard of hearing?" Snapped her aunt as tears appeared at the bottom of her eyes.
"No" cried Alice indignantly. "I just don't understand, what do you meen they where attacked?"
"I'm sure you are aware that your father has a very important job in the ministry, and that he some times has werewolves in the ministry for questioning. Well, two week ago he had a man in for questioning. A very bad man; if you'll even call him that. He was a werewolf. They didn't find him guilty so he was released, but he wanted revenge. So... he came to your house last night and bit your family and the son of your fathers work partner."
Alicia's mouth fell open and she started gasping like a fish out of water. She didn't understand. How could this happen?
"Where are they now?" Asked Alice when she finally found her voice, though it sounded weak and close to breaking.
"They have gone to live in a werewolf colony. The didn't want to put you in danger and it's what's best for them?" Replied her Aunt. She was looking out the window of the living room they were sitting in. The view was lovely. There where rolling hills and mountains with a forest surrounding them and incasing them; protecting them from harm. The sky to the left was a bright, endless blue, with very little white fluffy clouds. But to the right came the storm. The sky was dark and clouds were strong, they were going to fight the other half and win.
Alicia look at her Aunt but couldn't make out the expression on her face. Her Aunt could be hard to read. She always wore the same expression, one of boredom. And now was no exception. But Alicia knew that she couldn't be bored now, could she?
Then Alice thought about herself, what would happen to her? Her family had gone, where would she live? Who would she live with? Would she need to live with a muggle and never get to go to Hogwarts?
She started to really worry, so she decided to voice her concerns.
"What will happen to me Aunt Nina?"
"Don't be so selfish, only worrying about yourself!" Snapped her Aunt. "You'll have to live with me, but I don't approve of this arrangement, but it will have to do. But I have some rules. One, you will never use your metamorphmagus powers in my presence, are we clear? You will be quite and clean. You will do everything I tell you and you will not complain, got it?"
"Yes Aunt Nina" Replied Alicia.
