Niall's P.O.V
"Lexi, calm down. You're going to end up having another panic attack," I told her, trying my best to calm her down while we sat in the booth of the restaraunt.
We had already pre-ordered the food for us and our parents, but Lexi was literally just tapping the table the entire time. She hasn't stopped since we left our house.
"You're right," she said with a sigh and burried her face in her hands. "I'm sorry. I'm just really nervous right now. You know how I get in these situations."
I sighed and put my arm around her. "Come on, Lex. We can do this. They'll be here any minute, now. We have to put on a strong face, or it won't be believable." I nudged her and made eye contact with her. "We got this."
The thing about Lexi is that she gets easily nervous. Though sometimes it can be tough to manage, I couldn't really do anything about it. She has been like this since she was young and I just always wished that I could fix her in a way. I always end up making things worse. The only thing I could truly remember that could calm her down was when I sang to her, but wouldn't that be awkward? I hadn't done that in ages.
She suddenly grabbed the water that she ordered and started chugging it down, which set off all alarms in my head.
Hastily, I put my arm around her and carefully removed the water from her grip, shushing her softly as I caressed her back. Not caring about anyone around us, I began softly singing a familiar tune that we used to sing to in our cars.
"Darling I, I can't explain
Where did we lose our way
Girl it's driving me insane," I began singing softly, rocking her back and forth as her breathing began to slow."And I know I just need one more chance
To prove my love to you
If you come back to me
I'll guaruntee
That I'll never let you go." She nestled up to my chest and let out another long breath, causing me to continue."Can we go back to the days our love was strong?
Can you tell me how a perfect love goes wrong?
Can somebody tell me how to get things back the way they used to be?
Oh God give me a reason
I'm down on bended knee." I felt her entire body relax and snuggle closer, which made me feel something really familiar that I couldn't quite identify. It took me a moment to try to figure it out, but I just couldn't seem to put my finger on the familiarity. After a minute of pondering on the feeling, something caught us both off guard."AWW!" A voice exclaimed and both me and Lexi jumped away from our previous position, looking to where the voice had come from.
I calmed down a little as my mother came dashing towards us with her hands on her heart and a huge smile on her face.
"THERE IS MY FAVORITE COUPLE!" she exclaimed and grabbed my face, planting a huge kiss on my forehead, doing the same to Lexi.
"Mom!" I grinned.
"Maura!" Lexi exclaimed and pushed past me to hug my mother.
"Ohh, my Lexi!" She hugged her tightly as if she were her own daughter. "How are you, dear?"
"I'm amazing. Thank you. How about you?" she asked politely as she pulled away from the hug.
"I'm great," she replied happily.
"Is that my little girl?" A voice said behind us, and we turned to find Lexi's parents walking towards us with a big smile on their faces.
''Mom! Dad!" Lexi exclaimed and went to hug her father, then turned to her mom to hug her as well.
