Chapter Thirty

Josie's POV:

"Can we take Josie sight seeing?" I heard Maura ask Niall hopefully. I wasn't exactly eavesdropping...just listening to them in the kitchen from the living room. Okay, I was eavesdropping.

"Mum, you shouldn't be asking ME for permission to do things!"

"Well, it's your girlfriend! She's so sweet, I really like this one!"

"I'm glad, but you can do what you want!"

"Okay, we're going sight seeing!" She declared. I heard them walking my way, and I quickly pulled out my phone and pretended to be on Instagram.

"Okey dokey, Jo, my mum insists on taking you sight seeing. Would you like to go?" Niall entered the room, kissing my cheek.

"Of course," I smiled nicely at Maura.

"Be ready in twenty minutes!" She exclaimed.

"Where are we going?" I asked Niall.

"Not sure," he responded.

"Ok, what do I wear?"

"Something casual, I guess,"

I nodded and went back up to Niall's bedroom. I chose a pair of dark wash denim shorts and a white, ruffly tank top. I draped a dark blue cardigan over my shoulders and put on a pair of navy Sperry's. I straightened my long hair so it fell down my back and applied some light makeup.

"Are you ready?" Niall yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

"Yeah, almost!" I called back. I clasped a necklace around my neck that Niall gave me a while ago. It was a long, silver chain with the letter 'J' studded with diamonds. It looked expensive, and I almost refused to accept it.

I went back down the stairs where the rest of his family was waiting for me.

"You look nice," Niall noted, kissing my cheek. His fingers traced the charm around my neck and grinned at me.

"Thanks, are we going?" I pulled his fingers away from my neck and locked them with mine. Greg nodded and we all piled into their car.

We drove through the cute little town of Mullingar. I was pretty entertained with the scenery. My eyes were locked on the window the entire ride.

"Hey Jo?" Niall shook me out of my trance.

"Yeah?" I blinked, turning my gaze to him.

"We're here,"

I opened my door and my Sperry's dropped to the cement sidewalk. There was a dirt trail leading up from the sidewalk that led somewhere into a forest-y area. Trees masked a field of whatever was behind it. The sun barely peeked through the leaves on the trees.

It was gorgeous.

"See why I love Ireland?" Niall dropped a kiss on my neck from behind. He intertwined his fingers with mine and we started walking towards the trail.

Niall and I walked the narrow dirt road through the forest thing, and to be honest, it was beautiful. Everything looked like a calendar shot, I swear. We reached a point where a lake appeared. Farther in, there was a rushing waterfall.
