Chp. 1 Harry's POV

A/N: If you look at the cover of the book it is kind of a giveaway about who is going to be with who. The girl with Zayn is Anna, the girl with Niall is Chrissy, the girl with Harry is Kelly, the girl with Louis is Olivia, and the girl with Liam is Bethany. We just thought that it might help if you knew what the girls were supposed to look like. BTW... Just b/c they are together in the picture, you should know that it does not mean that they are going to stay together.

You know I had always been just a bit in love with Kelly. She had beautiful wavy brown hair, hazel eyes, and sure she was short but that just made her even more adorable. It's not like I could ever admit that though. I mean we have been friends for forever and how awkward would that be. I'm pretty sure that Zayn has a bit of a crush on Anna and Niall has one on Chrissy though. I knew that even though I felt this way it would just ruin all of our friendship if I ever said anything about it, so I shut my mouth before I caused anymore trouble than I normally do.

To celebrate just getting out of school, our group decided to have a beach/ picnic day. Everyone was in the water except for Zayn and Anna. She said she felt bad that Zayn didn't know how to swim and insisted that she keep him company in order to keep him from getting lonely. After about an hour we all got out and Beth, Chrissy and Olivia started to set up the picnic so we could watch the sunset. We all ate sandwiches and fruit, while we watched the sun go down. Kelly was resting her head on my lap and I could tell she was tired. I sat there and twisted my finger through her hair. Im sure she was minutes from falling asleep, so was Olivia, but Louis was enjoying every minute of her head resting on him. Niall pulled out his guitar and told the girls that we had a present for them. For the past four weeks we have been working on a song called "Little Things" I could tell they all really liked the song once we started singing it. Then Liam's phone starting ringing right in the middle of the song. "What the hell Liam!!! I was actually enjoying the song." said Anna as we all laughed. He answered the phone and an incredibly odd look appeared on his face.

---Liam's POV----

The moment couldn't have been better. Beth laying next to me, spending a day with my friends at the beach, and watching the beautiful sunset, and playing a song. Of course, until I got the phone call. Knowing her, when my phone rang, Anna made some sarcastic remark about her enjoying the song and me being rude. When I looked at my phone I didn't recognize the number. I picked up the phone and put it on speakerphone so everyone could hear: (bold= person calling) Hello? Is this Liam Payne? Yes it is. Who is this? Do you happen to be with Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan? Yes I am and I am starting to get a bit frustrated, because I don't even know who you are and why you are calling. Oh. I apologize. My name is Simon Cowell and I am wondering if you would like to participate in the X-Factor.

--Zayn's POV---

Liam's phone call was on speakerphone so we heard the whole conversation Oh. I apologize. My name is Simon Cowell and I am wondering if you would like to participate in the X-Factor. When we heard that everyone froze. We all looked around at each other confused and shocked. You don't have to give me an answer right away. I need an answer within 48 hours, though. Then he hung up. Us boys looked at each other not knowing what to say and then at the girls. They also sat their silent until they looked at each other smiling. "You have to join!!" Olivia jumped up. "Yeah! You guys are amazing singers!" Kelly jumped up along with Anna, Beth and Chrissy. Niall was about to say something but Olivia stopped him. "Don't say no. You have to. This is a once in a lifetime offer. You could end up having an amazing singing career. Maybe even become famous." she told all us boys and the girls nodded agreeing. "I don't know if becoming famous would be a good thing, you know? That's a lot to handle." Liam thought of. "I guess. But you have to auditioned. We will drive you there and make you sing if you boys don't." said Anna. I had to admit, being famous did sound pretty cool.
