Chapter Eleven - "You Are So Mean"

Alyssa's parents had come and gone by lunchtime, so we were all up early in the morning preparing for their arrival. Isaac was locked in the kitchen cooking lunch, while the rest of us were getting ready and trying to clean the house up a bit. Even though we've only been here for two days, it looks like a frat house.
We managed to get it to a pretty good state, so they were shocked when they saw how clean it was. Nobody mentioned how hard we worked hours before they got here, though.
They were impressed by Isaac's delicious lunch he made, Alyssa showed them around some more, they talked to us all about being responsible and adult-like behavior, then they left.
I like her parents. They show how much they care and they seem like the type of people who would do anything for anybody. They were really polite, just like Alyssa, gorgeous, dressed to the nines, and had a way of changing the atmosphere in the house.
For a little while, we felt sophisticated and mature. It didn't last long, because once they left, we were back to being our teenage-selves. But it was nice while it lasted.
After they left, we tried to think of plans for the day since the weather was nice again. I was really no help though.
There was only one thing I was thinking about the entire day. While I was cleaning, while we were eating lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Watson, and while we were sitting around the house, doing nothing.
The fact that I woke up in my bed with Oliver beside me.
We weren't cuddling or anything by any means. He was on the other side of the bed, his body contorted in a way that didn't look comfortable, and a light snore coming from his slightly opened mouth. It was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. And my lips stretched right into a sleepy smile.
So for awhile I just laid there. I kept glancing over at him every now and then to find him still sound asleep. But I stayed awake until he woke up and was a little confused on why he was in my room.
Nothing happened either. We stayed up talking, and then eventually it got late and we both passed out. That's it. Of course Alyssa will most likely try to pry something out of me, but that's all that happened.
We're taking things slow and this is the right way to do it.
But I got a little used to waking up and seeing him beside me because for the following two mornings, it happened again. By the second time, the guys noticed that he ditched their room. So they kept pestering him about what was going on, but he didn't say much.
"I just told them that we were up late talking. They believed it too," he smirked. "It is what happened though, so they should believe it."
"Well that's good," I smiled back, a light blush coming onto my cheeks. For what reason, I'm not sure.
All I know is that Oliver makes me blush. A lot.
"I'm hungry. We should get breakfast," he sat up, ruffling his hair with his hands.
"Me too," I nodded.
It's now the last day of vacation, unfortunately. Oliver and I have just woken up and it's barely nine in the morning. Apparently, we both have a similar problem – being incapable of sleeping in.
It's New Years Eve, and hopefully we'll be rested enough to go to a party tonight. The vacation was relaxing, but it was tiring too. We never got enough sleep, drank too much alcohol, and ate too much junk food.
