AUTHORS NOTE

If you didn't notice the last chapter was in Rove's POV! Just in case you didn't pick that up...

Rove POV

 My heart stopped.

That can be the only explanation for this weird feeling. Anyway he was very, very beautiful, for a guy anyway.

Sunlight shined through the window, making his black hair shine in a magical way. His electric blue eyes were so much lively than my dull ones.

Black hair and blue eyes... That's so weird... Maybe... I gasped

This guy's a freaking fairy! I thought for second. Then I started actually thinking.

A fairy that went in my room, sat on my piano, and played my stupid freaking song!

Oh yeah, the smile... I thought. It's not out of pity, it's a guilty smile. Like he's saying "Oh, sorry, I didn't know this room was taken" or something. I could feel my shocked expression on my face, and I immediately relaxed.

This guy is just a slacker, not a fairy, not anyone that should concern me. Just like every decent-looking guy around. Said some part of me in the back of my head.

I was so busy conversing with myself I hadn't noticed he said something. I'm pretty sure I looked strange not saying anything, plus there's a huge stifling awkward silence that I am usually oblivious to.

The guy was looking straight at me, waiting for an answer. What the heck do I do, I don't know the question, but I don't want to be nice to him, this is a battle! I can't depend on him at all! No mercy!

"Rove, is my name, I didn't hear what you said, sorry." There goes that plan, good try self. You lasted zero seconds.

The guy laughed and repeated his question, "It's ok, I was curious if I was trespassing this room, and I apologize for that if I was."

Ok, this is weird. It's friendly conversation. Not "I'm better than you, so what?" conversation.

"Uhm, well, no one- no one really comes in here but me so, if you don't mind I will practice." I said not sure what's going on.

"Yes of course, then I'll just be going now." he said, standing up.

Wow, how awkward and I don't even know his name.

"...name" I said unable to get my words out.

How did it turn out like this? Where's my confidence gone? Why am I looking at the floor? This floor probably needs to be cleaned... There's a broom in the closet- No! Stay focused! C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-C-E!

"What was that?"

"Your  name?" I said again looking up at him. I felt like our noses were about to touch.

He's a little too close, right? I mean he's on his way out and I'm in the way, and it's natural, but couldn't he back up?

He stopped.

I caught him off guard a little, he forgot to mention his name!

I took the moment he stopped, to slip out from him and head towards the music stand near the window.

"Of course, where are my manners, just call me Wake." He replied.

Wake? That's a different name.

"By the way Rove, well if I'm not a bother, I'd like to hear you when you practice." he said sounding sorta shy.

I turned my head to face him, but his back was to me and I couldn't see his face. Then I turned back around and continued getting my violin out.

I thought for sure he was nervous... Nervous of me... No no no! Walls! Defenses! He will not get to me no matter what!  I thought.

"Are you sure you want to hear me play?" I said. Yes that's it push him away! Show him you won't be swayed easily!

"I'm just not that good, and I mess up in practice, so it won't be enjoyable." I said beginning to turn around again.

" You know what they say, it takes practice to be perfect but you can't get it on the first try..." I began trailing off.

He was still facing the door. Why? Why is he still there, normally wouldn't you already have turned around, or at least moved?

"W-Wake?" I said, fully turned towards him now.

Wake POV

"W-wake?" I heard her stutter my name. I know my face is completely red, but I need to act cool.

My stomach dropped, I can't turn around, it's a dead give-away.

She's just a girl. She's just a girl. Be cool. Think of something to say quickly! Something that will throw her off!

Rove POV

I turned back towards the window and began thinking,

He hasn't said anything, what do I do? Maybe he didn't hear me... Repeat!

"W-" I began, but his reply interrupted me.

"Yes of course, I mean I'm sure you are scared to play after my performance on the piano. I won't judge you go on, because just as you said it's not perfect"

Shocked, I looked back. Wake was now facing me all the way, his hands in his pockets and a evil smirk on his face.

Gripping my blue necklace I thought to myself, Hold on, you're almost there, hold on.

"What was that?" He said in a rude challenging way.

"Oh it's nothing. Yes you are completely right, I could never outdo that performance. I've only had a few years of practice after all, and I'm not even close to perfect yet." I said with a hurt smile.

Some part of me, probably the worst part of me had hope, but that never works out right? I mean perfect doesn't exist! Then why are you so disappointed Rove?  Said that annoying part.

The bell rang interrupting the conference with my inner thoughts and my war with Wake.

I quickly put my violin away and walked out of my beautiful practice room, my violin in one hand and necklace in the other.

Wake POV

Why the heck did you do that? That's so stupid! You're so stupid!

"Dammit!" I said kicking the wall. Whyyyy?

Her eyes were so pretty! Why did I do that? I just blew every chance of anything ever!

Why did she had to react that way? It was worse then her getting angry, she agreed with me? Why? I mean I thought she could show me a different side then her politeness! I didn't want to see the cold side!

"Stupid!" I said again to myself. I grabbed my bag and walked out the room.

I looked around the hallway. I have no clue where I am at all. Dammit.

This school is off to the worst start.
