First Day Of School

Gracie POV 

I ride up to the bike racks of my new school, Waterlilly Heights, and lock my bike up. I grab my backpack and walk inside. I walk around and hear the bell ring. I finally find the Principal's office and walk inside. "Hello dear. You must be Gracie Courtney." Ms. Nicole says. "Yes. Um could I have my schedule please?" I reply. "Why sure Hun!" Ms. Nicole said and gives me my schedule. I see that on the bottom right corner it has all my locker information. I thank her and leave the office. I start walking toward my first period class. After a few minutes I finally find my class. "Late as usual mr- why hello dear! You must be Gracie! I'm Ms. Kelly" Ms. Kelly tells me. "Yea I'm Gracie." I reply and she points me to my seat. "Class lets welcome our new classmate Gracie Courtney. Gracie just moved here a few days ago so you should be very kind to her." Ms. Kelly announces to the class. They mumble "yes Ms. Kelly" and roll their eyes. The door opens again and Ms. Kelly says to the late boy "late as usual mr. Nelson." And shakes her head. "Sorry Ms. Kelly." He says and she mumbles "when will you learn Shane?!"  

After class, I am packing up my things and I feel a hand on my shoulder. "Hey" I hear. "Hey. I'm Gracie. What's your name?" I ask. "Shane. Shane Nelson." Shane says and I flip my head around. I see the boy that came in late that Ms. Kelly scolded. I notice his eyes are the same color as mine. Blue green with a bit of gray. I smile and grab my backpack. I walk out of the room and head to my next class.  

Geometry was easy enough, but it is stupid why they have it as a class here. We are allowed to choose our seats so I sit in the middle of a back table. A girl runs up to me and grabs me. She pulls me over to her table and gets my stuff. "What was that for?!" I ask the girl. "That is where Shane Nelson sits. No one sits there other than him. I'm Natalie by the way." She tells me. "Hi Natalie. Thanks for saving me there." I say and she giggles. "Your welcome. And call me Nat or Nat-nat" she says and I nod. I smile. I have just made my first friend. Her friends Charlotte and Jessica join Nat and me at the table soon followed by Sequoia and Lillie. Together we fill up a table. Then her friend Ben comes up to the table and pulls up a chair. "Hey nat. Making new friends I see." Ben says. "Oh yea this is Gracie everybody!" Nat replies and I wave hi. "Hey I'm charlotte. Call me Char." Char tells me. "I'm jessica. Call me Jess." Jess tells me. "I'm Sequoia." Sequoia tells me. "I'm Lillie. You can call me 'Lill' if you want!" Lillie tells me. I am about to reply when Ben cuts me off. "Hey. I'm B-" "Butch" Nat, Char, and Jess finish for him. "No it's Ben." Ben says and rolls his eyes at the three girls. "Nice to meet you all." I say. Nat, Char, and Jess giggle and then the teacher comes in. "Good morning class! I'm sure you have net our new student Gracie! I'm Ms. Charlene." Ms. Charlene tells me. Nat whispers to me, "just call her Ms. C" and I nod.  

After a boring set of classes, we finally have lunch. I sit with my friends. "So have you met Shane yet?" Jess asks me. "Yea. He came up to me after first period." I say. They all stop eating and look at me in shock. "W-w-wait h-he t-TALKED TO YOU?!?!?!" Nat asks in awe. "Yea. It's no biggie though." I say and continue to eat my food. They recover and continue eating. The talk builds up again and soon they are all talking. I find out a lot of things about them. Then the bell rings and we head to Science.  

I am counting down the minutes till the bell rings. I have all my friend's phone numbers and we made plans for tonight. I feel a hand on my shoulder again. "Hey" Shane says. I turn around. "Hey." I reply and look at the clock again. "So..." He says. One more minute."umm..." "RRRIIINNNGGG!!!" the bell goes off. I grab my stuff and am walking out of the room when a hand grabs my wrist. Shane hands me a slip of paper and smiles. I glance at him and walk away. 

"...and I was like, 'wtf?!' Hahaha" I hear Nat yelling on the phone. "Ugh I have to go Gracie. See you tonight?" "Yup! I'll be there!" "Mmkay. Bye!" I hang up and go upstairs to my room to get ready to go to Nat's house.
