Same old routine, every morning. But this one was kinda different. My mom was up early, making breakfast. "Hey mom." I said walking down the stairs. "What are you doing up so early?" She looked up at me and then continued flipping the what she called , "flap jacks". "I felt bad for shouting at you last night, plus the little one was kicking." My mom said smiling down at her baby bump. "It's okay, I understand." I said grabbing a plate full of flapjacks and returning to the table. I poured myself a cup of orange juice. It was dead silent. "When will dad be back?" I asked suddenly. "I don't know, by Christmas ? He's very busy, a lot of stuff have been happening up in Afghanistan. Haven't you heard ? Bombings going on." I choked on a little bit of my pancake. "Is he okay?" "Yeah, he's fine. I just hope he will be back soon, in time for the baby." I smiled and got up. Finished with my plates, I put them in the sink. "Gotta go mom." "Bye sweetheart. Love you." "Love you too." I said grabbing my book bag off the counter. I walked outside. "Guess Conner isn't picking me up today." I got into my car and drove off. I was 2 miles away from the school until I saw Conner. His eyes were red and puffy. "Conner." I said pulling my window down. "Are you stoned?" "Erin! Hey girl." He opened up my door. "Can you take me to school?" He looked even worse up close. "Dang Conner, sure I will but what happened?" I said driving away slowly. "This shit gets you to the moon, but the thing is you gotta find your way back." Conner said trying to sound wise. "Oh okay." "I'm so hungry." He complained. "You need to chill." I said laughing. We pulled into the school once again. "Dang Erin." He said trying to grab my butt. "Omg Conner . Should you even come to school?" "Yeahh, people need to know that the king and queen are here." He smirked and put his arm around me. I quickly blushed while we walked in.  The boys looked at me instantly. "Damn girl ." Harry was nowhere insight . Which was a good sign. Today was gonna be a good day.
