Chapter 2: Male Lycanthrope and an Oracle

---------------

Blushing furiously, she casted her eyes down onto the ground while she tried to brush off the fall as if it meant nothing to her; but her cheeks were a dead giveaway. “I-I-I’m fine, thanks for saving me from the fall.” Calanda muttered nervously.

Easily towering half a head over her, he leaned in and whispered, “No problem, I would do anything for a girl like you.”

Calanda’s cheeks turned even redder at the remark, much to her mortification. She wondered where that boy got his charms from or was it simply that she lacked socializing skills such that it would make her emotions overreact over small little things.

Must be her raging teenage hormones.

Orabelle, who seemed to have finally recovered from her squealing frenzy rushed forth towards Calanda, tugging her forth while rambling random snippets of information which Calanda could barely catch.

“Oh my god! Freaking ADOLPHUS SMYRL just helped you up! He’s like super popular among the ranks especially amongst the lycanthropes – “The orange-haired girl’s hand touched her mark instinctively – “As he can shift into any form which is a super rare ability among our rank! With his killer looks, he is to die for! Not bad for a newbie to catch his attention on the first day although you are quite something to look at.” Orabelle gushed, sending a devious look to her roommate, making Calanda look at her figuratively.

“Take your voice down an octave, I bet my cashmere scarf that if you go any higher, it’ll shatter glass and reach a decibel those only dogs can hear.”  The red-eyed girl mocked accusingly, smiling slightly at the girl’s reaction.

“Well I’m not far from a dog.” Orabelle said in a matter-of-factly tone, leading her into the hallways of many doors. The floor was decorated with Persian carpets that seemed like it was just recently bought, the dim lights casting an orange, sleepy glow along the hallway.

The walls of the hallway had gold Mylar Leafy designs with a nice shade of dark red that was almost like maroon but a shade darker. It was almost like a walkway and a recreated scene in Alice in the Wonderland that had many doors, with golden knobs as shiny as a new penny. Each door had it own design and Calanda was almost sure that it would contrast with the people who resided in the room.

“The designs of the doors are really beautiful. Are there perhaps any gifted artists in Promenus Academy because these pictures are worthy of compliment with its detailed drawings.” Calanda remarked, her fingers brushing against one of the doors dreamily.

“Well, I’ll tell you the magik to these doors,” Orabelle grinned wider, her index finger curling as if to lure her forth. “This is our dorm….. So go on, touch the door.” The ginger giggled.

Calanda watched in amazement as the tip of her finger touched the oak wood (but it was surprisingly more smooth than she thought it would be) as intricate swirls and designs spurted out, intertwining with the designs that was already drawn onto the door. The four elements somehow managed to make its appearance as it weaved through the many birds that symbolized Orabelle.
