Chapter 10: Scandalous!

**LAYLA POV**

"How sure are you that he killed your cousin?" Danielle whispered urgently as we stood by my locker. "Just trust me. Its him. You wouldn't believe me if I told you HOW I know" I laughed humourlessly. Which is true. Realistically speaking, I DREAMED it. That's not exactly concrete evidence. "Try me" she pursed her lips and crossed her arms. "Okay, I had a nightmare. About the accident. I saw the number plate. Then this morning, I saw....Aisha," I whispered her name, "and she led me to Zayns' car. Where I saw the matching number plates" I finished off. "You can't be serious" she laughed. "I'm not joking. Not about this" I replied seriously. "Layla, you can't assumptions from dreams" Danielle stressed. "Look, I don't expect you to believe me. But he did it. I know he did. It explains a LOT. He's not a bad guy, so now he feels guilty. Which is why he's such an introvert. The guilt is making him one-sided, you know?" I asked. "Okay, Miss know-it-all. Then why is everyone around him dead?" Danielle asked. I frowned and rocked back a bit. That's a good question. "What if he's killing them?" I asked. "Why would you kill your own mother?" Danielle questioned. "Maybe because she found out about my cousins death and she threatened to call the police?" I guessed. "And his sisters? Guys LOVE their sisters, you know" she stated. "Perhaps they found out too? In most movies as soon as you kill one person, you have to keep killing to keep the first kill a secret. Maybe he's been killing everyone who's found out?" I suggested. Its finally starting to make sense. "Then why aren't his friends dead? I'm pretty sure they would know" "Yeah, but they're his best friends. Best friends keep your secrets a secret" I stated. Which is true. If things get crazy, you tell your best friend and they keep it quiet. End of story. "I still don't think Zayns a killer. I mean, look at him" she said and nodded behind me. I turned around and saw Zayn. He was just standing against his locker, minding his own business. Typing into his iPhone when he looks up, eye locks with me and smiles. I smile back then look at Danielle again. "Someones busy eye raping you" she laughs. "Ha ha, not funny" I reply as the bell goes off.

English first.

I shut my locker and look at Danielle again. "Never judge a book by its cover. Zayn could be a murderer" I whisper. "Yes and I'm a part-time Fairy Godmother to skanks who can't get any" she rolls her eyes and hooks her arm into mine as I laugh. We begin walking towards class and I noticed Harry and Niall walking in front of us. "Busy tonight, mate?" Harry asked. "Yeah, I'm headed to the bowling alley. You?" Niall asked. "I was going to chill at home. Mind if I joined?" Harry asked. "Sure! Let's get Louis and Liam in too!" Niall exclaimed as we walked into the class.

Cool. A boys' night out. Good for Zayn.

I took my seat next to Danielle and Zayn sat behind us. A few minutes into the lesson, Zayn asked me to pass a note on to Liam. I complied and did as asked. I saw Liam read it, scribble an answer and then it was passed to Harry. Harry replied then passed it to Niall. Niall replied then passed it to Louis. A few minutes later the note came back. The girl in front of me didn't want to get caught passing notes, so she threw the note over her shoulder and it fell open in front of me.

Zayn: Movie by my house? Boys' night?

Liam: Sorry, mate. I have to baby sit.

Harry: I have to house sit, sorry.

Niall: Family night! Whoo-hoo!

Louis: Date with my girlfriend! Rain check?

I passed the note over my shoulder and thought. Didn't Niall say he's going bowling? And didn't Harry say he was going with? Weren't they going to ask the guys? I looked at Danielle and she shrugged. That's highly suspicious.

"You head on over to our spot under the bleachers, I'll get us some lunch" I offered and shoved Danielle towards the doors that led to the sports field. Sure, I didn't mind waiting. But what I did mind, was the subs. Danielle kept buying salad subs.
