**LAYLA POV**

First thing I saw was a pair of bright red eyes in a room so dark, nothing else was visible. The darkness was consuming and suffocating me. Almost like drowning in a pool of black paint. "I warned you, Layla. I TOLD you to stay away from Zayn, didn't I? Now you'll suffer as he has. May the deaths my anger cause rest solely on upon your conscience" Aisha whispered over and over again as the red eyes began pulsing. I tried screaming, but no sound emanated my mouth. I could feel the scream coming out but I couldn't hear it. Aisha began muttering words I couldn't hear. Then I heard it but I couldn't understand it. Finally, it hit me. Like a truck full of bricks.

"Let the death of your sister be on your head..."

"Layla, wake up. Its just a dream. Its not real. Layla, wake up, kanala (A/N: it means 'Please' in arabic. Muslim usage)" Zayn whispered in my ear. Which is the appropriate way to wake someone from a nightmare. The screaming to wake them generally frightens them more. I opened my eyes and jumped up with enough speed to knock Zayn over. Vertigo hit me and I staggered a bit but I caught my balance in less than a minute again. "Zayn, take me home" I said. "Layla, sit down. You need to ju---" "TAKE ME HOME RIGHT NOW!!" I screamed and pulled him off the floor, dragging him towards the door. "Layla, what's wrong?" Zayn asked curiously. "I NEED to get home!!" I screamed as Aisha's words played through my mind. I swung the door open and came face to face with my aunt and uncle. They were smiling at me. I froze for a moment then rushed to pass them. "Layla, why the haste?" Aunt Zarine asked in a pure voice. "She's going to kill Aminah. Aunt, I will be back. But I have to save my sister" I cried. "Do what you must, then return" Uncle Salie whispered and moved aside. Zayn beat me to down his staircase. He went straight to the kitchen for his car keys and ran outside. I followed him and hardly waited for him to unlock the car before I was half breaking the door open. "Buckle up" he muttered as he turned the ignition on. He didn't have to tell me twice. I tied my seat belt on and before I knew it, he was speeding out of the driveway. We were at my house in no time. There were police there. "Oh no.." I muttered as I jumped out of the car and ran to the front door. Whether Zayn was following me, was an uncertainty. I was focused on getting to my sister.

"MOMMY!" I screamed and I exploded through the door. My parents were sitting in the living room, crying, to a policeman. As soon as my mom saw me, she jumped up and ran to me. "Where've you been?" My mom cried in my ear and she squeezed me. "Mommy, where's Aminah?..." I sobbed. Instead of answering in words, my mom cried even harder. "Mommy. Where's Aminah? Where is she?!" I yelled and pushed my mom away. I ran up the stairs and straight into Aminahs room. "AMINAH!" I screamed and checked her en suite bathroom. Threw the covers completely off her bed. I ran out and saw police tape over my room door. "Layla..." I turned around and saw Zayn standing in front of my mom. Who was practically crying her heart out on my dads shoulder. I shook my slowly and took a step away from them, towards my room door. "Don't go in..." Zayn said in a pained voice. "Please, don't go in" he repeated. I just shook my head then turned and ran into the room. "NO!" Zayn shouted.

Blood.

There was blood everywhere. Especially on my bed. I walked over to the bed, slowly. There was TOO. much blood. My entire bed spread. My headboard. Pillows, splashes on the carpet. "AMINAH! AMINAH! STOP HIDING FROM ME! THIS ISNT FUNNY!" I screamed. "I'm sorry" Zayn whispered behind me. "What are you sorry about?! She's not gone!" I yelled at him. "Layla, she's passed on" he said softly. "No! No! NOOOOOO! She's still here!! Okay? SHUT UP ZAYN! You idiot! THis is ALL YOUR fault!! This is someone else' blood!!" I screamed. I laughed a bit, "Yeah. This is someone else'! I'm going to kill who ever messed all their damn blood in my room!" "Layla, listen to me" "No, YOU listen! I'm NOT stupid, Zayn! I know what you're going to say! That Aminah is dead? She's NOT DEAD! Aisha wouldn't kill her, okay? Aminah and Aisha? We're all cousins. Family. She won't kill me, she won't kill Aminah! Simple! Its a no-brainer!" I shouted as tears streamed my face. Zayn took a step forward and I took a step back. "Stay away from me. Aminah is going to attack you when she gets back" I said as I held up my hand, so he'd stop walking. "Layla! Aminah is gone! Why do you think the cops are here?!" Zayn said loudly. "No," I shook my head, "Aminah is NOT gone. Perhaps to the shop, yes. And those police? Because I was missing. Don't you think my parents would call the cops if their kid was missing? Parents do things like that, Zayn! Only YOU wouldn't know! Because you DON'T have parents!"

The colour drained from Zayns face. I would have felt bad but he was WRONG to assume Aminah was dead. She wasn't dead, she couldn't be. "Poor, baby. Throwing a temper tantrum, are we?" asked Aisha and she lounged disgustingly on my bed. That was covered in blood. Everything, covered in blood.

Even my note. All bloodied up and laying on my bed. My knees buckled and I fell. My body couldn't handle the shock anymore. Just as I was about to fall a pair of arms caught a hold of me and I caught sight of my diary. Laying under my bed. Aminah must have come in, found my note, read my diary then Aisha showed up and she...she...

"Layla, come on. Open your eyes. Aisha will pay for this. Stay with me" Zayn said as my eyes began drifting. I felt him settle us on the ground before cradling me in his lap. One hand on my cheek, an attempt to get my attention, and one supporting my weight. I didn't want to move. I just wanted to lay there. I've had enough death and pain. Ghosts? No thank you. First my friend. Now my SISTER. Just how much pain am I expected to handle? Wasn't her mom and dad supposed to have killed her? "Aisha.." Zayn whispered. I opened my eyes and found his averted. I lifted myself slowly then followed his gaze. Sure enough, she stood before us. "I warned you, Layla. Don't say I didn't" was all she said then disappeared. Tears fell from my eyes and I faced Zayn. Why is he so strong? How is one boy able to cope with all this carnage and death?

Crystal meth?

"Why didn't it work, Zayn? Why is Aisha still here? Why is my sister not here?" I asked him. "Layla, please. Just listen to me. Okay?" Zayn asked and stared in my eyes so I'd focus solely on him. I nodded slowly. "Aminah. Is. Dead. Understand that?" "No, she's downstairs" I argued as more tears escaped my eyes. Zayn placed his hands on my cheeks. "She's upstairs. In heaven. Aisha killed her" "Aisha wouldn't kill family" I whispered. "After we called her parents last night, she WOULD" Zayn said slowly. "Not Aminah. Not MY Aminah" I sobbed. "Yes, your sister. As soon as her parents arrived, Aisha fled. And because we summoned them on my property, they can't leave until they get sent back to heaven. My house is a safe haven" he said slowly again. I stared blankly at him. Unable to say what my brain was yelling at my mouth to say. "What's wrong, Layla? Talk to me"

"Would it have killed you to tell me this last night? My sister is DEAD. Zayn, she's never coming back" I said in a monotonous tone. Almost robotic. "My WHOLE FAMILY is dead. They're never coming back either, Layla. Now really isn't the time to phase out or zone out. I get it, your sister was your life. The sun in your little galaxy. And you're not being yourself. You're losing yourself. But you have to keep it together. Just a bit longer. I know Aisha and what'll happen if you don't keep yourself together. If you don't, you'll be losing one of your parents next"
