!Chapter 23!

This battle was going to be tough, and perhaps they might even meet another comrade...

"Zenitsu! [Name]! Let's go!" Tanjiro says, gently laying down the body and standing up straight. Zenitsu flinches and trembles, while [Name] asks the kids if they're okay with being alone for a bit.

"Nuh-uh!" Zenitsu says, shaking his head no and refusing to go with Tanjiro, shaking and sweating buckets. Tanjiro stays silent for a moment before saying, "Oh... I see." and turning away.

"Hyaaaah! Why are you looking at me with such disdain and pity... Almost like I'm not here at all?! I'll go! I'll gooo!" He yells, clinging onto Tanjiro from behind.

"I don't want to force you." Tanjiro says firmly, a shadow covering his face, as he starts to walk towards the house a little.

"I'll gooooo!" Zenitsu yells, starting a cry a little. Then, [Name] takes off her box, placing it in front of the children.

"While I'm gone, stay close to this box. It will protect you if anything happens." [Name] says, entrusting her little sisters that they are strong enough to protect.

'Wow, how thoughtful! It makes me wanna keep her all to myself more!' Tanjiro thinks when he turns to look at what she was doing, a light blush replacing his earlier shadow, as he stares at [Name] longingly, full of his own desires.

'[Name]-chan is so kind! So beautiful! My heart is gonna burst with all this love I'm feeling for her!' Zenitsu thinks, starting to calm down a little but has a deep red blush on his cheeks. He still stays a good distance from the house though.

[Name] then stood up, reassuring the kids that they were okay as long as they were close to the box. Then, she walked over to Tanjiro and Zenitsu, so both boys quickly removed their blush.

Tanjiro decided to keep Nezuko with him, trusting that Rina and Sora will be capable of defeating whatever opponent they might meet. They all walk towards the door, Tanjiro with a determined expression, [Name] with a calm but also somewhat nervous expression, and Zenitsu behind the two, silently crying.

Tanjiro continues forward, ignoring Zenitsu's wails, all three of them inside the mansion.

"Tanjiro, [Name]..." He starts, both ignoring him at first, "You guys will protect me, right? If anything happens, you'll protect me." He finishes, quivering and sweating and crying, so scared he nearly tripped several times.

After a moment, Tanjiro finally spoke, "... Zenitsu... I'm sorry, but... I broke my ribs and leg in my last fight and they haven't healed yet. So..."

"Whaaat?! What? Broken bones?! You can't be hurt! If you're hurt you can't protect me! And that means I'm gonna d-d-die!" He screams, crying, sweating, and trembling even more than before. "Gyaah! Whatta we do? Whatta we DO?! We're gonna die! Die, die, die, die! Broken bones?! That's awful! I'm dead... Or practically dead anyway!" He screams, kneeling on his knees and clinging onto Tanjiro for dear life.

"Ahem, excuse me, but, did you forget me here? I don't have any broken bones, so I can protect you Zenitsu!" [Name] says, offering her protection, unknowing about the jealousy coming from Tanjiro, while Zenitsu happily accepts, and clings onto her like a leach. [Name] just sighs.

Tanjiro was about to say something, before the kids who were supposed to stay outside ran in. "Don't follow us in here!" Tanjiro quickly says, but it was too late, the door to the outside already closed, and the kids ran up to [Name] and Tanjiro.

[Name] thinking quickly, also ran up towards the kids, stopping them from going any further and, trying to get them outside again in a gentle voice.

"Kids, why did you enter the house?" [Name] asks as softly as she could.
