Amy's POV
I woke up and I felt someone's arms around me. Oh right they were Casey's arms. The sunlight was shining through the window and it made Casey's dirty blonde hair look super light. I try to move around the reach my phone but Casey's grip tightened around me. As if she didn't want to let me go. How cute.
I tried moving again but more slowly and I was able to reach my phone. It was 7:36 AM. Still pretty early for a Saturday day morning. I decided to slowly ease myself out of Casey's arms and make breakfast for her family. I put on one of Casey's hoodies-which went to my mid thigh and I had on running shorts which made it look like I wasn't wearing any pants. I shrugged and headed to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.
I walked into the kitchen and took out all the ingredients I needed to make pancake batter. I mixed them all up and decided to make some bacon. I laid them out onto a baking tray and set them to bake. Then I cracked some eggs into a bowl to make scrambled eggs. I decided to make big portions since I was feeding TWO varsity football players plus their family. Then I started to make the coffee when Casey's dad walked into the kitchen.
"Good morning Mr. McDonald." I said while pouring the eggs into the pan and flipping a pancake.
He looked around the kitchen. He saw the coffee starting to drip, the small pile of pancakes starting to grow, the eggs sizzling on the stove and the aroma of bacon in the air.
"Oh my god Amy you didn't have to do all this! You're our guest we should be cooking for you!"
"No Mr. McDonald I wanted to. And let's say it's a way of me saying thanks for having me over for dinner last night." I said while stirring the eggs.
"Oh Please call me Tom. And thank you so much Amy! Casey has certainly made a good choice with you."
I blushed. "Thank you sir."
"The family should be down soon, thanks again for all this!"
Then as if on cue Ms. McDonald walks in the kitchen.
"Oh my dear heavens! Amy! Did you cook all this?"
I giggle a bit and pouring the batter onto the pan to start a new pancake. "Yes Ms. McDonald. It's a way of saying thanks for having me over for dinner last night and for the fabulous meal."
"Oh please call me Mary I told you that before. You didn't have to do all this!"
"I wanted to! Coffee?" I asked while walking over to the coffee machine.
"Um sure. One for Tom also if you don't mind."
I nodded and carefully poured two cups of coffee. "Cream? Sugar?"
"Tom takes it black but I can do it myself dear."
I go back to finish up the pancakes and eggs.
"My god Amy what did you do to this coffee? It's not bitter anymore!"
"Oh you just add a pinch of salt into your grounds and the bitterness should go away."
I finish up the cooking and take the bacon out of the oven and put it on a plate. Then I start loading the dishwasher before Tom stops me.
"Woah woah woah Amy you cooked breakfast for the whole family we'll take care of it! Eat eat eat!"
Jake comes in suddenly. "Woah what is that smell?" He looks over sees the bacon. "Bacon!!"
"You can thank Amy for that. She cooked us breakfast."
Jake turned to me and smiled. "All right Amy! She said while patting me on the back. Thanks buddy!"
I sit down to eat with the family...except Casey who's probably still upstairs sleeping like a baby.
"Casey's still asleep huh?" Mary says as if reading my thoughts.
"She had a great game last night not surprising." Jake said while stuffing his face with pancakes and eggs.
Then Casey walks in the room. "Woah! Eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, and coffee?! What is going on!"
"Amy cooked it and it's delicious." Jake said.
"You cooked all this?! Aww babe." She said while coming toward me and giving me a kiss on the lips.
"Now now Casey eat your food your girlfriend made for you before it gets cold," Tom says, "and try the coffee too! Amy has a magic touch!"
She sits down and takes a sip of her coffee black. She doesn't take her coffee black so I expected a bad response.
"Woah it's not bitter."
"I know!" The whole family says together.
"This one's a keeper Casey." Jake says with his mouth full of eggs and bacon.
Casey punches him in the shoulder lightly and Jake just smirks.
"Now now children eat your food." Tom says sternly.
"Thank you again for making us breakfast Casey. These pancakes are absolutely wonderful! They're soft and fluffy and buttery and full of flavor and-"
"We get it mom Amy made amazing pancakes." Casey groaned.
"Now hush Casey. You can't even make toast without burning the hell outta it."
"I so can!" Casey defended.
"Ladies! Eat your bacon." Tom said.
"Well I mix my dry and wet ingredients separately before mixing them together. And then I let my batter rest a little bit before putting it on the pan." I told her.
"Fantastic! You should come over more often and we can cook together!" Mary said happily.
Casey glared at her and Mary snapped back right away. "Oh don't give me that look Casey you would love that considering you already ate 3 pancakes and you've been here for less than 5 minutes." Mary teased.
I smiled and watched the playfully argue. Oh I could get used to this.
