I've been waiting for today since I was graduated on my last high school. Today is the first day that I'm being a collegian. How cool!
I wake up early this morning, get a shower, and make some breakfast. Dean will drive me to college and I can't believe the fact that my brother is my senior! I'm afraid if he will be over protective to me but in the other hand I'm lucky having him so that he will protect me.
"Dean, come on! Go get your breakfast faster!" I call him as he's still in the shower.
He doesn't reply. He's singing in the shower and he has been enjoying his little concert for half an hour.
"Dean! I need to be there on time, if you don't finish your shower in five minutes I'll go there by myself!" I knock his door powerfully so he will notice me.
But as soon as I walk through his bedroom, he opens his bathroom door indicate he has already finished taking a shower.
"Wait a sec." He orders me.
"Go get your breakfast fast, I don't want to be late!" I remind him and he nods.
As he walks through the kitchen to get some breakfast, I go to my bedroom to grab my things and put it into my bag.
He brings his own things while chewing full of bacon in his mouth. After he finished his breakfast and took a sip of milk, he grabs his keys and walk to the driveway followed by me.
"Hey, listen. If you finish your class, text me okay? Don't go anywhere. You are still a newbie in this town." He talks to me with his serious tone.
"I know, I know." I reply quickly. He starts the engine and pull out the car to the freeway.
It only takes ten minutes to get to our college. Thank God, I'm not late!
He parks his car and we are separated, walk to our own class in different direction. I actually don't know yet where my class is.I walk through the hall to find my class and I see a blonde girl looking so confused standing in a center of the hall. I approach her in hope to have a same destination with me.
"Hi, excuse me. Are you looking for this class?" I hand a paper over her, giving her a chance to see my class.
"Yeah, luckily!" She hands me hers.
"Oh good then. I'm Lyene, nice to meet you." I stretch my hand to shake hers.
"I'm Abby, nice to meet you too." She smiles at me and shakes my hand.
We walk together to find our class. A new friend not in five minutes being here. Nice start, Lyene!
It's quite interesting because the seniors introduce us so many things, the teachers, all the classes, and also the clubs. It brings me to confusion what club I should take. Abby takes ballet and choir. She's so good at singing! Then I decide to join debate club.
After the class is finished, I text Dean to tell him that I'm ready to go home. I sit on the bench in the driveway waiting for Dean. Suddenly, a couple of girls walking over me. I know that they are my senior.
"Hi, Lyene?" The curly one asks me.
"Yes?" I nod.
"Can you follow me to the cafetaria? We need to talk." The black straight hair with bangs above her eyebrow points her finger to the cafetaria.
"Sorry?" I furrow my eyes as I'm confused.
"Come on, follow me! I'm Bella and this is Meg." The black straight hair introduces herself and points to Meg beside her.
I follow them both in confusion. Who the hell are they? I don't even know who they are but they do know me.
We are arrived at cafetaria and Bella points me to the red table where 5-6 people are sitting there. She offers me a seat. And after I sit, Bella sits next to me and Meg sits near her friends in front of me.
"Um, what's up?" I start the conversation.
"You must be Lyene, yeah? Dean's sister?" Said the girl near Meg. She wears hot pink shirt and a short skirt.
"Yeah..." I nod.
"Don't you know us? We are your seniors here and we need to talk something about our friend." She answers but she doesn't even introduce herself.
I'm quite not interested in this conversation. I have a war inside my head whether I just need to blow up my mind that I want to go home or I need to listen to them carefully because they are my seniors. Besides, I haven't checked my phone yet, I just contacted Dean. He must be waiting for me.
"Okay, please."
"Can we have your phone number? Someone asks for it." Bella replies.
"Who?" I ask them faster.
"You know Josh, don't you? Josh Flynn." All of them are staring at me.
"Yeah, he has been my senior since I was in junior high school."
"That's it! He asked us for having your phone number." Meg shouts happily because I know who they refer to.
"Here you go. By the way, Dean must be waiting outside. I need to go home, sorry." I smile and walk in hurry leaving them.
I check my phone and see there are 5 missed calls and 7 texts from him.
From: Dean
To: LyeneWhere r u? U fine? Call me ASAP!
I laugh. I don't know why, I just laugh. I run to the driveway searching for his car.
He sits on the cap as he's trying to call me. His eyes are detecting for my existence."Hey!" He waves his hand. "Where have you been?"
"I'll tell you later, let's go." I walk to the passenger seat.
"Tell me!" He asks me and closes the door.
"I was asked to go to the cafetaria." I reply.
"By?"
"Bella, Meg, and their friends. I don't know who they are, but they are my seniors. Don't you know them?" I ask curiously.
"Those sophomores, just don't get yourself really close to them. What did they want?"
"They asked my phone number for Josh Flynn. What's wrong with them?" Even though I also feel weird around them, I want everything is clarified.
"Oh my gosh! Just don't. Don't threaten yourself by getting involved in such problems like that." His voice is getting deeper. I know he is serious.
I don't know whether he's being as what he is or he is trying to protect me. We don't talk until we reach home. I'm not satisfied for his answer towards my question. All I can do now as his little sister is just obey his command.
