Alyson and I go through the kitchen and down two steps and a screen door into my front porch. It's a small added on room, all screened in and has fake grass carpeting, complete with a retro colored folding couch and wooden table. It's more like a recreational viewing porch, since our pool table waits out here too.

"I've eaten so much today, but I just can't stop!" Alyson jokes and drops onto the couch, opening the box of fruit snacks and pulling out a pouch for herself.

"Yeah, it all tastes so good though!" I sit next to her and takes a package from her box.

We watch out the opened windows at the lake and next door we hear a screen door slam shut and someone mumble some things and chuck a glass bottle against the ground.

"Mmmm!" Alyson barely chokes her fruit snacks and stand up, making the box fall onto the floor.

"What?" I follow her finger pointing to a boy next door, like college age. "It's just Walter." I lean back into the couch and check my phone. A bunch of messages from Kathy about Jared, since she just got back, a day early.

"He's so hot, how do you not want to just lick him right now?"

I look at her weird, "Okay, that's just plain creepy, and you've got Parker comin' your way, so just calm down, just a bit."

She sits by the window and pulls her camera up on the screen of her phone. She tries to get the perfect view of the tall, slender boy, but she can't seem to get it just right.

"You know what's even weirder?" I pull out my notebook and study some notes., "Is that he is literally only seven feet away from you, and he can't feel the attack of your love aura invading his bubble."

She smiles and pulls her jacket hoodie to cover the lower half of her face. "Is this good enough, now he won't know who I am."

"Wow, you're so ninja-like that I can't even begin to guess that you're my best friend, ALYSON." I announce sarcastically, and move my volume up by ten on her name.

She giggles and lays back on the floor. "You never told me about your attractive neighbor!"

"That's because he's never home. He hates his parents, for all I know."

She gets back on her knees and peeks at him with her eyes just over the sill, her hood covers her head now too, and her phone leans against the window. She pokes the button on her phone, and the final shot shows Walter smiling on the screen.

He walks over and knocks on the screen door, "Hey Zoey."

I smile at him and wave him in, "Hey."

Alyson quickly sits up and leans her back against the wall so it seems that she wasn't just watching him intently. In her hand, she twists a strand of hair and her smile is so big it will probably fall off.

"This is my friend Alyson, she is in love with you, but she already has a boyfriend." I point to my now helpless friend who is shaking her head in disagreement.

He smiles and half-waves to her, "Hi Alyson." He laughs a little bit too.

"Hey, I heard you're in the competition Saturday. Are you going to win me the biggest fish?" He asks me with full seriousness.

I laugh, "No, but I will get my dad the biggest fish. Maybe I could give you a leftover worm or something."

He scrunches his face and holds his hands folded over his heart, "Ouch!"

"Yeah, I know, it sucks to not be my dad, right?"

"Yeah, it hurts."

We hear the older neighbor, his mom, call him from inside their house and he looks back to me. "Well, mother's calling. I'm expecting that fish next time I see you!" He points at me on the way out, and then references Alyson, on the floor still. "Catch you later."

"Wow, Zoey, you should've told me about him before, he seems quite comfy with you." She comes straight at me and practically sits herself on top of me.

"It's not like that, he just used to spend the night sometimes. His parents are a bit...er, rough." I write my notes on Jared on his page and think of what else I learned.

"Really, he seemed kinda like he liked you though."

"Maybe, but we're just friends. And plus, he's in college, there are a bunch of girls there, plenty for his pick."

"Sounds like you want him too," She urges.

I shove her away, "No way! Now get off me, I don't like him that way!"

She smiles with her tongue sticking out her teeth and leans into the couch. "Okay."

I finish my writing. I don't like him, he's just my friend and I'm just his friend. We're friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey! So, I wasn't planning on Walter being that way, and I didn't describe him too much, but just picture him as some hot, tan college boy :P And there isn't anything going on with them, so feel free to love him. He's a good guy.
Anyways, thanks for all your guys' reads! I love seeing that some people still read it :D And, if you want, a follow, vote, or comment would be nice too! I will try to write again soon, hopefully tonight or tomorrow! Thanks again!
