I shouldn't have been surprised he sat in front of me. Out of the three empty seats, one was next to me, one was in front of me and the last one was in the front row. I was just very shocked that he wanted to be near me instead of one hundred feet away like every other kid in this school.

"I wouldn't sit there Mason. Ash there might put a loser spell on you and ruin your chances of being accepted by the cool people, like me." Madelynn was already on the attack. Mason just looked at her, and turned away like he didn't care.

"She's right you know." I whispered.

" What? You mean you really put spells on people." Mason said very sarcastically, loud enough for Madelynn to hear. Then he turned right to face her and said, " I think I'll be fine" And flashed the most amazing smile I've ever seen.

I couldn't help it, I giggled. He just stood up to Madelynn and still sat by me and didn't care about what was going to happen. He didn't care that he wasn't going to be in Princess Madelynn's good graces.

"I meant she was right about not wanting to sit near me. If anyone sees you and me near each other, you will get horribly bullied and will have no friends." I said, scared for him. I wanted to protect him from falling into the black hole that is my life. It was more important that he be safe then I have him.

He looked at me and for the first time the pure green of his gorgeous eyes hit me. It made my heart pound.

"I'd have you wouldn't I?"
