"Jump," he urged.
I gulped in large breaths of air, peeking over the edge of the cliff. The raging tumultuous waters below churned in fury. I was drenched in rain water as the winds blew violently, bringing with them the cold rain.
Jump. Never had such a word been so terrifying before.
So this was it. This was what it had all boiled down to. Me having to jump into the chaotic Ocean below. I was not sure how my choices had led to this.
I resolved my mind and closed my eyes tightly, my tears mingling with the icy rain. A warm, calloused hand wrapped around my own clammy one.
Without looking back, I jumped into the dark, churning waters below, my companion's hand tightly wrapped around my own.
