Darkness surrounds me.
I can hear water near me, and all i can smell is the scent of ...tulips?
I open my eyes and still can't see anything. I panic. No moonlight.
Wait, i know this place.
This is my cave. I know the way out by hard.
I go under the waterfall and step outside, and everything that happened before I fainted starts coming back.
The voice... The song... My horse... I need to find him.
The woods are scary during night time. There is no light whatsoever.
I'm not sure I should walk on my own at this time through the woods. I've never been here at night.
I start walking the way I think takes to the cliff where I last saw my horse. I didn't even untie him from the tree. I don't know how much time I've been unconscious.
Wait a second. How did I even get in the cave if...?
The moment I think this I trip over a branch(?) and when I'm about to hit the ground with my broken elbow, a pair of strong hands grab my waist tightly, carefully not to grab my wings.
"It's the second time i've had to rescue you today. What the hell were you even thinking? Leaving the cave to walk through the forest at night?"-I don't have any time to think about the male voice who just talked to me because he has grabbed me by my waist and now I'm off the ground.
Wait what!?
"LET GO OF ME RIGHT NOW OR I SWEAR I WILL-"
"Okay."
He drops me mid-air and i start to fall quickly towards the ground.
"NO, NO, NO..."
I scream back at him. It takes about 0,2 seconds for him to fetch me back. He's a pretty quick eian.
Wait. Eian.
"I took your horse to your farmhouse, although your parents and sister are very worried."
"How do you know about my family's...-"
"I know everything about you."
"What's my name."
"Um..."- he's not so sure anymore.
"Who are you, anyway?"
"Sorry, my name is Ian."
Just as he says this he drops me safely near my house.
"How do you know me? How did you find me?"
"Whoah calm down."-he seems to try not to make eye contact with me.
"Okay sorry."
"I've been living here since i was a child. I watched you everyday, i didn't understand why you wore (and wear) a harness all the time. I learned to fly on my own, and followed you carefully so you wouldn't notice me."
He turns around and I can see his wings with the light that a near candelabrum gives off. He's a snow owl. White, enormous wings with tiny brown patches. The tips are round-shaped, made especially for extremely silent night flights. I've heard of this type of eians. Their eyes are-
"Please turn around, Ian."
"No, I'm sorry if I've been a stalker, I couldn't help it, I was alone and-"
I interrupt him, grabbing his left wing to turn him around and see his face.
"I was alone too."- I say, trying to comfort him, and looking closely at his face. His eyes shine as bright as neon lights. I wish i was exaggerating.  As yellow and as shiny as a traffic light. It's not like I've seen those, but I've been shown pictures.
Their pupils are made to reflect light if it's directly shone into their eyes, so they can see during night time. I'm guessing he's ashamed of that.
"My name is Piper."-I say, making him smile widely. My heart melts.
"Nice to meet you Piper."
I smile back, thankful that he can't see my face blushing. Or can he?
I try to make myself look confident, so i turn around and start walking towards my house. He stands there, silent.
"G'night, Ian"
He doesn't answer back, and when I look back he's not there anymore.
He really is, quiet.
