CHAPTER 24

Today is my wife's birthday, her first time celebrating her birthday with us, her family. She just wanted a simple family dinner, mom wants the opposite of it, but she still let Seulgi win this time but with a condition on inviting her parents for the celebration, it will also be the first time in a long time they will celebrate Seulgi's day. My wife agreed, and it warms my harm that at least she's letting them in. Making me and my mom smile and be proud of her.

My mom with my mother in law is now so busy in the kitchen, we have our chef here but they insist on cooking for tonight and I offer to help them which they both declined, aigoo these two, so I was just watching them.

"Aunty, are you going to tell Yeji and Soojung about Seulgi?"- I asked while munching on my strawberries that my mom prepared for me.

"Do you think it is okay? Won't Seulgi get mad? I mean, I am happy that at least she's letting us be here to celebrate her birthday, but I'm also afraid that it will make her mad for telling Soojung and Yeji about her."- Aunty Jessica

"It is, aunty. I think Seulgi won't mind."- I answered because I already asked Seulgi about it and she told me, that it is okay for her.

"Joohyun, shouldn't you start calling your mother-in-law, properly? She isn't just your aunty now, she's your wife's mom."- Mom, I look at them both, they were both looking at me.

"Uh?"- I was hesitant about what I should call aunty. She and my mother giggle at my hesitation.

"Aigoo, Joohyun-ah just called me Mama it's fine."- Aunty said giving me her comforting smile and so I nodded my head. "You shouldn't be shy about it, when you were young I always told you to call me Mama, didn't I? But, just like your mother you were so stubborn."

"Yah! I'm not stubborn!"- Mom protests at what her best friend says.

"Nee~ nee~...."- my mom and her used to like this always having a playful banter towards each other. I smiled looking at them, I am happy seeing them like this. "Joohyun, do you know that you used to adore Seulgi so much when you were a baby? I still remember back then you were like two and she's one but you always stay by her side helping me to take care of her."

"Right, she's even throwing tantrums when it's time to go home or when morning comes because she wants to see Seulgi... What was her nickname to Seulgi?"- Mom asked curiously and I also listened attentively.

"Gigi. She used to call her that, because she can't say her name fully. You didn't even give Yeji that same affection you gave Seulgi back then. When we lost her, its also the time we lost your cheerfulness."- Mama said.

"She adores Yeji, Sooyeon-ah, but it's just different in the way she shows it to Seulgi. I must say, little Seulgi is little Joohyun's first love. Isn't it amazing how destiny works? I mean, Seulgi married her. When in fact, we all agreed to it back then, despite their gender."- Mom stated and I arched my eyebrows.

"Well my dear mother, isn't it your doing why we got married?"- I asked her cynically, I am thankful but still it all happens so fast. And they both laughed, but it still amazed me, how they told me those things. The little me, knows what's best for me and I guess it was Seulgi who is now my wife.

Hours gone by, it is now time for dinner, all of them are here except Uncle Yuri, he just called and told us not to wait for him and we can start dinner. Dinner's been fun, full of laughter because of my cousins and our friends, including the kids who did not stop making some jokes at some random things. Now all of us excluding the kids are still at the dining table, having some casual talk when my mother-in-law suddenly....
