The long car ride had finally ended. I was truly happy to see a new home where I would start my new life with my mother, my older sister Victoria and my twin siblings Austin and Killeen. As I exited the back of the van I ran to be the first one to enter the house. When I opened the door to my surprise it was completely furnished. I saw knick knacks and pictures from my old house but nothing else was ours.
My mother entered the house with the rest of my siblings.
"Dakota! Come on I want to show you your room."
I ran upstairs to find my mother pointing to the the 2nd room on the left. As I opened the door it was like my old room except larger. I walked to the window where a small seat was placed. I sat there looking out to see my neighbors back yard.
Even though I'm 6 at this time I still realized the reason I had to move even if it ment I wouldn't see my father anymore. Trying to get that thought out of my mind I walked down stairs to see if my mother needed any help.
"Mommy, do you need any help?
Startled she answered, "Oh, umm no thank you but I do know your sister went to play in the front yard so why don't you go play with her."
"Okay."
With that note I went out the door to see Victoria talking to a girl who was about her age. I shyly walked up to them.
"What are you doing here? Leave us alone! Go back inside" Victoria yelled at me.
"It's okay, she can meet my younger brothers. Grayson! Ethan!"
Just as the girl called out their names two boys that looked very similar came from the front porch.
"Yes Cameron?" The shorter one said.
"Meet your new neighbors! This is my new friend Victoria and this is her little sister... I'm sorry I didn't catch your name," Cameron asked
"Dakota."
"Well Dakota these are my younger brothers Ethan and Grayson. They are 6 and yes, they are twins."
I waved and smiled at my new neighbors. They waved back and went of to the front of their yard to play with a foam football. During this time Victoria and Cameron went to sit on our front porch swing to talk.
I went over to the twins and watched them pass the foam ball. They just chatted with me about starting school and the new shows on TV. This was the beginning of a great friendship.
