Near Death Experience

I just came back from vacation 2 days ago. It was fun I went to Ecuador where my parents are from.

I'll just get on with the story...
We were at the beach a couple days before I was leaving. (It was a 6 hour drive) My brother, mother, aunt Esther, cousin Christina, 2 little cousins Elizabeth & Alejandra ( Cris kids), my cousins husband Carlos, my other cousin Maribel ( cris sister) , and me were at the beach.

We were having a fun time throwing a football around the water. Then my brother throws it to the deep end, so Mari (Maribel) and I go get it. Keep in mind I'm taller than her, we get the ball the water is up to my neck. We start to turn and walk back to Jason (my brother) and Eli (Elizabeth) were, but Jason was there ad pushed us back to the far end.

Saying, "Goodbye!"

This is were shiz goes down. I'm not a strong swimmer, I just learned to swim last year. Mari doesn't know how to swim either she's 27. The water was up to my chin, and I was getting ready to swim back to shore, but then Mari grabs me by my neck and pulls me down the water. She was drowning and couldn't breathe cuz the water was over her. While I was under the water trying to get out of her grip. She started screaming for help, but everyone just stared. You know why?

BECAUSE THERE WERE NO WAVES THE WATER WAS CALM AND NO ONE HAS EVER DROWNED THERE, SO EVERYONE THOUGHT WE WERE JOKING AROUND.

How embarrassing.

After 2 minutes of being in the water and my aunt and mom panicking and Cris laughing (at least not trying to) and worrying about her sister. Carlos was taking care of our stuff, he knows how to swim. My brother came to our side around the 2 minutes to calm us down and telling us to shut up, but Mari was desperate.

Finally some hippie guy (Mari called him that) comes to save us.  Mari grabs tight on to him since she was all over him I pulled him by his hair and then Carlos comes, so I grab myself on him.

The hippie guy was tall like 5'9, the water was at his shoulders. And he says this, "It wasn't deep. You guys should have calmed down the water is really calm no one hardly ever drowns."

That was the most embarrassing experience of my life. That's why no one came to save us.

I've been going on for to long so I'm just gonna cut it here for now. I'll probably write a part 2. Other stuff happened in Ecuador.

Overall lesson of the story:

Never go to the deep end with someone who doesn't know how to swim.

Even though I technically save maribel life, and she's eternally grateful with me. And I will never let her live it down.

Goodbye.👋
