True Love (Sequel to Raptor Girl)

Ashley's POV
I managed to change my number and find an apartment in New York City. I also found a job as a accountant because of how my GPA in math was. I've graduated high school and have a new boyfriend named Shawn. He knows about my past and is afraid of me to go back to Costa Rica. I'm 18 now, and haven't seen my family since I've left. I've also died my tips of my hair a aquamarine color.

I sit down on the couch with my cereal and turn on the news. "A death has happened in the famous Isla Nublar. The National Wildlife Preservers were checking around the area when Officer Andrew Walker makes a shocking discovery. "He was just lying there...dead. On the ground motionless, with three claw slashes against his throat. We called the hospital and the helicopter brought him back to the main island and announced his death. It was a tragic day."

By the time his speech was done. I had my bag packed my phone in hand with my plane ticket walking out the door. "Hey where are you going?" My boyfriend asked me. "Costa Rica. I have to see if my family's okay." "Why what happened?" I cut him off with a kiss on the cheek. "I'll be back in a week. Watch my apartment while I'm gone." I toss him the keys to my apartment and run to the airport.

Skipping flight

I get off the plane and catch a cab to Owens house. He probably has the same one since I left. Because it's my room, I haven't seen him in a year in a half. We get to the house and take a deep breath. This is it I'm going to see my family after a year and a half. I take the courage to walk up the steps and knock on the door. The door opens to see Claire.

"Ashley?" She asked. I nod starting to cry. "Come here." Opening her arms to hug me. "Who's at the door?" I see Owen standing there with a dumbstruck look on his face when he saw me. "Ashley what happened? Where did you go? What did you do to your hair?" He kept asking me questions and noticed that I'm still standing outside. "We'll come inside, you sister missed you." Owen says.
