The mirror

The mirror is her enemy
The reflection is her fear
She hides all her emotions
Her smile masks the tears

Trapped inside her exterior
She's screaming to get out
Then parallel to her reflection
She's staring herself down

She finds every imperfection
And tears are forming in her eyes
She hides the truth from every one
And she living through her lies

So she pretends that she's happy
She smiles like she's okay
Her happiness is but an act
And she's breaking more each day
But she's striving for perfection
In her mode though she's not close
She's working harder towards her goal
And it's hurting her the most
Her words they start to tremble
Then her body starts to shake
She's crumbling under all the hurt
There's not that much more she can take
She then calliopes into a heap
Cause no matter how she tries
She's still living though a broken soul
And a pocket full or lies
