Scarlett told her father that she had some urgent shopping to do and that Cyan would go with her. She took her back pack and ensured that she had charged her mobile and packed a flash light, extra batteries for the flash light, a power bank, some snacks and a bottle of water.
Rose was amused at her preparation, "You know that you are not going for a camp, right?" She giggled.
"You can never be prepared enough." Scarlett waved her hand. "You know in all horror movies, their phone batteries run out. I can't take that risk."
"Are you sure you want to do this? I am scared, Scarlett. If something happens to you..." Rose couldn't complete her sentence.
"We will be fine. And honestly, I am bored to death. Nothing ever happens in this stupid town. You don't know what it was like the past three years when you weren't here. Not to mention, it kills me not to know what has happened. On top of that, that someone has tried to kill my best friend. If we could find something that can help the police, I think it's worth the risk. And don't worry, I will be fine. And I will make sure that Cyan is fine too," Scarlett winked at her friend whose face turned into a beetroot.
"Now, I told daddy that I am going shopping with Cyan to get you some stuff. Make excuses if he calls you, K?" she was serious.
"I will. And you promise that you will message me when you reach there and that you will call me after leaving there. You will message me if you feel you are in danger or need help. You won't stay there for more than half an hour, whether you find out something or not," Rose demanded.
"OK. OK. I will. Geez!" Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Now where do you think I can get a lock pick?" she asked.
Rose smiled and shook her head at her friend's antics.
It was almost five in the evening. Scarlett received a message from Cyan that he was ready. "Ok. Wish me luck." Scarlett took the back pack and the keys to her car.
"Please be careful. I am still against this non sense," Rose hugged her friend.
Scarlett said goodbye and left.
Rose took her phone and typed a message to Cyan. 'Please be careful and leave soon'. She toyed with the idea of sending the message. Finally, she took a deep breath and hit send. She stared at the message wondering if she did a mistake. She put her phone down and it beeped. She immediately checked the message. It was from Cyan. 'I will be. I will message you when we reach there. Don't worry. We will be careful'. It brought a smile to her face.

Cyan and Scarlett met Rowan at the Green Matcha café. Rowan handed the keys over to Cyan. "The big one is for the front door. The rest of the keys are for some of the rooms. I don't know if the key you want is there. Ruby had a bunch of keys. I have no idea where they are. Probably with the police."
"We will see. If nothing works, we will come back. I honestly don't know if this is going to work out. But I think we should do something since Rose was attacked. The more I think about it, the more I believe that the murderer or an accomplice was in the room. There is no other reason why someone would attack her." Cyan drank the soy latte and grimaced.
"We should leave soon. It's almost five thirty. It's a long drive. And I don't want to prowl around that manor in dark." Scarlett stood up. Cyan drained his latte and they left after saying goodbye to Rowan.
"Please be careful and call me if you need help," Rowan saw them off.
"Do you trust him?" Cyan stared at the receding figure of Rowan in the side mirror of the car.
