So.. I'm not a virgin.
It feels weird, as I lay there in Drakes bed. Surrounded by the memories of last night. Everything flooded back to me all at once. Every movement reminded me of him.
I got up and looked at him passed out on his front. Last night was magical. Every time was filled with passion. It wasn't lust, the way he treated me and spoke to me, it was too strong to just be physical. I thought about the sweet nothings he whispered to me, and my heart fluttered.
Then my whole body went cold as I stepped out of the bed and saw everything else from last night. Everything Drake had told me, about the drugs and the dealing. I need to help him.
I cleaned the mess from the floor and disposed of everything properly. Once that was finished I went downstairs and checked the time.
It was just gone 11 so I made myself some breakfast. After the energy he exerted last night, I wasn't surprised that Drake didn't wake up till 4 in the afternoon.
When he finally did wake up, he strolled into the kitchen and avoided eye contact with me. I sunk in my seat slightly as he maneuvered around the kitchen, ignoring me completely.
I sighed.
"Good morning?" I asked.
"Its the afternoon." His voice was cold and it shocked me. I stared at his back, the scratches down his spine and shivered at the thought of last night.
"Yeah, are you okay?" I asked as I pulled on his shoulder so he could face me.
He sighed and ran his hand over his face. He groaned and finally looked in my eyes.
"We shouldn't have done that." Those five words shattered my heart. He regretted it. He didn't want to do it. But why did he instigate and carry on into the early hours of the morning.
"Oh." I said almost silently, I'm surprised he heard me. Drakes eyes grew wide.
"Oh, no no!" He back tracked.
"I didn't mean it like that, like I wanted to do it, and I'm glad we did, but no. Its not how I wanted it to happen. Ugh Steph no." He stumbled over his words, and I smiled slightly.
"Its fine." I flashed him a quick smile and then asked the question I was dreading.
"How much do you actually remember from last night?" I bit my lip timidly.
"Ah, the drugs." He inhaled through his teeth.
"I want to stop, if you're willing to help me. I mean, I'm stopping for me, but you're a big motivation." He shone me a silly grin and I reflected it.
"Of course I will help you." I couldn't stop the smile on my face as his bent down and placed a kiss on my nose.As he pulled back to stare into my eyes the front door open and Drake dropped his gaze and back away as if I were on fire.
I frowned and Nate walked in.
"Wassup?!" He shouted as he jumped over to me and Drake. I looked at Drake and he stared at his feet.
"Okay, you're acting weird. I'm going to sleep. Two night shifts last night and two more to come. Night losers." He shouted making his way up to his bedroom.
"What was that?" I asked the minute Nate had closed his door.
"He can't know!" He responded quickly.
"He won't like it and he'll say we can't be doing, whatever were doing." I felt my shoulders stiffen at his words.
"So what? You want me to run around behind his back, sleeping with you. So you don't have to make an actual commitment to me." I hissed as quiet as possible.
"That's not what I meant and you know it." He hissed back.
"You regret it, you said so yourself and if you don't, then go up there and tell him. Or don't you want to be with me?" I knew I was jumping to conclusions. We hadn't said this was exclusive or that it even meant anything.
He stared at me long and hard. His eyes were fixated on mine and he was clearly trying to figure out what the best course of action was.
"Why would I tell him anything? Its not like your my girlfriend. You're just a little girl, who I finally convinced to get into my bed. You were gullible and easy, that's all." His eyes were dead as he tried his up most to push me away.
I stared at him for a long time. I guess he's right, I'm ten years younger than him, why would he want to be with me when he could have someone his own age, who he would connect with better.
"Fine." I spat and made my way upstairs.
I stopped halfway and without turning round I gritted my teeth and said: "Oh, and you can throw away your life with drugs. See if I care."
I continued upstairs without waiting for a response.
***********
So I got a letter in the mail the other day, and I graduated. My results from last year were outstanding, so I passed and now don't have to go to school anymore.
Relief washed over me, because I hadn't been in a few days. I had to go in and pick up my certificate from school and then I'd never have to go back.
On the way back home I decided to go and get something to eat.
I was stood in the queue when a hand clasped my shoulder. I spun around quickly, ready to attack when I looked into Lucas's bright blue eyes.
"Oh hey, sorry I was completely out of it." I smiled and he brushed it off.
"That's alright." He smiled back at me with a toothy grin. I looked at him for a little while and he looked back. Someone cleared their throat behind us and I turned around to see the cashier waiting for me to pay.
"Oh right." I fumbled around in my purse for the money.
"I got this." He handed over the money.
"Thank you." I said quietly and took my stuff to leave.
"Hey wait up!" Lucas called after me.
"Do you wanna hang out?" He looked at me hopefully. I guess having someone to hang out with was better than going home and crying into my ice cream.
"Okay sure." He smiled brightly again and took the bag out of my hand.
"Let's go then."
