Kreb pulled his old journal off the shelf. Erin sat across the old rickety table from him, the fireplace crackling behind her long dark hair. Grey streaks had become to take hold near her roots. Despite this, her ageless beauty hadn't lessened since the day they met.

"That battle was so long ago. Yet I remember it as if it was yeserday."
Kreb chuckled. "Yeah, you think you remember it clearly? Look who you're talking to."

Erin smiled. Kreb's aging body contradicted his unaging memory, not to mention his sense of humor. He didn't often speak of his curse, but when he did it was always in such a joking matter.

Kreb flipped to the marked page, picked up his coffee and began to read to himself

"Long before our time, before the Age of the humans, there was light and dark. Aros, the high king of such light, ruled over all in existence. His teachings were highly regarded as the path to supreme justice, order, and peace. His followers were known for their strength and morallity. His Acolytes have been some of the most powerful figures in the history of this planet." He nodded towards Entold, standing behind him.

He paused as cheering among the Arosites died down. "But, where there is justice, there must be a force to oppose it. Rakanos, the god of Destruction, chaos, and greed was born." The croud grew silent at the mention of the name, but Stoic continued. "His forces soon swallowed the Utopia Arosites worked towards. Aros and Rakanos clashed constantly, their forces on this planet carrying out their bidding, and the tides turning to reflect the constant struggle between the two gods in the heavens."

Stoic drew his blade, the mere metallic echo of it leaving its sheath sent a wave across the battleground. A slick and light rapier, radiating energy. Awestruck hit the armies below. Every soldier immediately recognized the weapon.

"After thousands of years or struggle, billions of Ancients lost in the war, a new power rose. Aethersa and her Acolyte, leading a new race: mankind. They arose to the top of a hill, their voices filled with supreme judgement! "

The armies of Aetherites and Arosites below broke into a bonzai. "Today I stand before you on the very same hill, Aethersa's student, servant, new Acolyte, and your leader! Our battle cry shall echo among the ancient souls lying restless on this field, awaiting or return! We have been suppressed! Enslaved! But today, we shall return to our rightful glory! For Aros! For Aethersa! For peace!"

Kreb sighed. "Stoic is a good man, but he was a bit optimistic then."

"Weren't we all?" Erin replied.

Kreb thought for a second, then chuckled. "You're unfortunatley right. I wish it was that simple."
