December 6, 2004

I was awoken by people walking around and worried voices coming from the living room. It was 10:00 o'clock at night, I got up, stretched and went downstairs to see what was all the fuss about. I saw my mom sitting on the couch talking to some stranger across from her, "Mom, what's going on?" She turned around and looked at me, she was crying, "Oh Alexander what are you doing downstairs so late at night?"  She quickly wipe the tears away.

"I heard lots of movements coming from here, so I went to go see what's going. Mommy are you alright?" I was very worried for my mom.

"Uh yes, yes it's just that something terrible has happen with Barbra." She said in a shaky voice. "What?"

"W-well she has.......past away a-and now...." My eyes widen and started to tear up, but my mom quickly wiped away my tears. Barbra is my mom's best friend, but I consider her as my aunt, she was really nice to me and my parents. She cleared her throat, "Her son is going to be staying with us for a couple of months, until his father sorts everything up." I gave her a questioning look.

"Son?"

"Yea, since she was going through all the divorce papers with her husband she let her son stay with him in Los Angeles, but since this happens he needs to do some stuff that I'm pretty sure you wouldn't understand cause you're too young," she dryly chuckled, "anyways his son is going to stay with us for a couple of months, until everything is set."

"Oh, when is he gonna come?"

"Tomorrow now go to bed, so you can wake up early in the morning and meet him." I nodded and went back to bed feeling all excited for tomorrow.

Next day.

I woke up early, took a shower and got dressed for the day. When I went in the living room the air felt tense and dull especially when there was no one around for some unknown reason. I heard a call pull up to our driveway and the car door close. There was a knock on the door and I quickly went to the door to open it. A tall dark looking guy was at the front door and a boy that looked around my age was there too. He had darkish brownish colored hair, brown eyes, and pale skin.

"Hi uumm... you guys can come inside and have a seat on the couch, while I go and get my mom." I said while i moved to make space for them to enter our house. "Thank you." The tall guy said and entered. I ran upstairs to my mom's room and knocked on her door a few times, "Mom they're here." I said. "OK, I'll be right there just hold on." She said through the other side of the door. I went back to the living room and told them that she is coming.

"You must be Alexander Wilson, I'm Andrew Miller and this is my son Timothy Miller." He said. "Hi it's nice to meet you guys." I said.

"C'mon Timothy say hi it's rude when you don't reply back." Timothy looked at me, but soon turned away. I was about to say something, until my mom finally came down from her room as well as my dad and started to chat of what's going to happen and stuff. I went to the kitchen to get something to eat since my parents were to busy talking and I didn't want to bother them.

I got a marshmallow poptart from the counter and open it. I was about to take a bite out of it, until I felt someone tap on my shoulder that made me jump, "Holy fudge!!"

I heard a soft chuckle from behind and I turned around to see it was Timothy, "S-sorry didn't mean to scare you." He said shyly. "It's alright, so you need something?" I asked him

"Oh, well my dad told me to apologize to you for earlier this morning."

"You don't have to really, you must of felt uncomfortable for you to not say anything especially when you don't really know us, so yea." I chuckled.

"Y-yea." He said while he looked down at the floor and we fell into an awkward silence, which I finally broke, "Hey do you want a poptart?" He look like he was in deep thought cause he didn't seem to hear me since he didn't reply back, "hey Tim."

"Huh, what?" He finally looked up. "I asked, do you want a poptart?"

"Uhhh....s-sure." I handed him a poptart and he started to eat it. I just chuckled, "You're so shy."

He glared at me, "I'm not shy!" I smiled at him. "C'mon let's go to my room." I said grabbing his hand and took him up to my room. I started to show him my videogames that I had, also my drawings and after that we started to play videogames. When we got tired of playing we lay there on the floor and I talked about my family and my pet cat Morris that had died last week. I noticed that Timothy doesn't talk much, he barely said anything while I talked about my family, but I know he'll warm up to me soon.

After that I gave him a tour of our house, while we did that my mom was preparing us something to eat since it was about to be lunch. He actually warmed up to me cause he's finally talking in full sentences, he would usually talk just one or a couple words, but now he doesn't and he also talked about his family of how they were all together and happy. That's when I actually saw a true genuine smile come from him, but it was soon replaced by a frown and I felt a pain in my chest.

I really didn't like to see people sad or in pain, which is why I'm trying to cheer up Timothy and now it's my mission since I'm a ninja xD (not really).

The day went by fast, Timmy's dad already left, and it was night time. I was setting up my bed, until I heard someone knock on my door, "Come in." I told them. Timmy enter my room, which I was kind of surprise cause it's 10:00 o'clock at night and I thought everybody was asleep by now.

"What are you doing?" He asked while he rubbed his eyes tiredly. "I was just reading, but I'm about to go to bed right now."

"Oh......." He just standed there and shifted alittle bit, "c-can I sleep in your room tonight if that's alright with you?"

"Hehe, yea." He then went back outside and came back with his blanket and pillow. He extended his blanket on the floor and I watched him curiously, "What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Ummm....I'm setting up my blanket on the floor, so I can sle-"

"No!" I quickly said cutting him off and he flinched, "I'm sorry what I meant was that you can sleep on my bed."

"W-what about you?"

"I'll sleep on the floor."

"You sure?"

"Yup." He kept looking at me worriedly, "it's fine really and plus I've slept on the floor once and it wasn't bad at all." I lied, but it was only to insure him cause I don't want him to sleep on the floor. "Oh, ok." He finally agreed, we got everything settled and went to bed or for me the floor. I never thought the floor was so fudgin cold and uncomfortable. "Alex?" I jumped when I heard him, "Y-yes?"

He popped his head out from the side of the bed, "I feel cold." I smiled up at him, all ready knowing what he meant. I got up, while he scooted over for me to lay down and we then drifted off into sleep feeling happy.

That was the day I first met Timothy and everything was great, but after 8 months his father came back and took him back to Los Angeles.

That was the day when my life was destroyed and the only day I saw him was when we went to his mother funeral, but not once have I seen him after that.
