Chapter 2: To The Shore I Go

Alena's POV

"No, you are not aloud to go up to the shore" My father said to me "and why not I just wanna see what it looks like" I say to my parents trying to be reasonable. "I TOLD YOU NO NOW STOP THIS TALK ABOUT GOING TO THE SHORE, NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM! My father yelled at me. I was in tears I swam to my room and used my powers to take me to my secret hide away.

Anyways sorry for all the yelling that was just the talk where i try to be reasonable with my dad but he never understands I just don't get it. Sure i'm royalty but I am almost 18 I can't just stay underwater my whole life I wanna go explore the land and maybe find true love. I whistle to call my best friend Luna the dolphin, she gets me so well, I love her so much. I don't need to tell her what the fight is about because she already knows how much I wanted to go to the land... "but I guess my dream will never come true." "Hey don't say that how about we go right now" Luna tells me. "Really?" "Yeah I hate watching you suffer plus I know you can handle yourself for crying out loud you're the strongest mermaid ever mentally and physically."

We swam so fast up to the shore and I told her thank you and she left. I got out of the water and laid down behind a rock and instantly I got legs but I was naked "YES" I screamed but a boy started coming my way so I put my head down so he couldn't see me.

"Hello, anybody there?" I didn't respond so he talked again "please come out I won't hurt you." So I lifted my head up and said "hi umm by any chance can you not get any closer?" I asked the boy with bright blue eyes. "Sure but why?" "I'm naked" "Oh ok well stay here I will get my friend to give you clothes." He said so I listened to him and sat there until he came back with this friend of his who was a girl with bright curly red hair she was pretty. "Here put these on" I put the clothes on but didn't stand up because I didn't fully understand how to work my legs. "you can come out now" The girl said. "I can't get up my legs are too weak" I said to them they understood and came over to my sides and picked me up. "Anyways hi my name is Nash and this is my friend Mahogany or you can call her Lox" Nash said to me. "Hi my name is Alena" I said to them. "That's a pretty name so can I ask what happened since you came onto the beach naked" Nash asked me. "It's a long story but to shorten it up I got into a fight with my parents so I ran away they know I'm here because I kept bugging them to come here but they wouldn't let me and I know running away from your problems isn't the right thing to do but they have been controlling me my whole life." I said to them (I no longer need their help I can walk fine).

"Well that sucks" Nash said "Nash!" Lox said and hit him lightly on the shoulder. "haha it's fine I swear, and Lox I love your hair it's so pretty." I tell Lox "Thanks I love your hair when did you dye it?" She asked me "Oh this is my natural hair color" I told her she seemed confused since it isn't possible for humans. "Well let's go inside and I will introduce you to everyone" Nash said and with that we walked inside.
