History: Matt's always wanted to be an idol. But he solidified the start of his journey to become an idol when his mom died and she told him to "Go for gold". Which he took as be one of the best idols ever. So he gathered two of his friends and formed their unit GoldUP!. A unit dedicated to the golden shine of individuality and rising above shame. While Matt kept going with his personal goal to have GoldUP! become the best idol unit in ES for his mom. Even if that means staying up all night writing their next chart topper. Even starting up a rivalry with UNDEAD for no real reason and Matt taking it very seriously (same with Rei but mostly just in a self-entertaining, teasing way to piss Matt off). But Matt won't let that deter him from his overall goal of having GoldUP! be the best idol unit in ES. No matter what.

Personality: chill, laid back, takes breaks whenever possible, always tries to keep Matt from working himself to death, very protective of his unitmates, doesn't take kindly to jokesters who spread misinformation for clout

Role: Rapper, Visuals

History: Kiri never really cared if he ever became an idol or not. He just wanted to spit rhymes and make music with his friends. But when Matt invited him to join GoldUP! he just couldn't say no. Not to one of his best friends who he cares way too much for. So he joined GoldUP! and became the designated 'Matt work interrupter'. Though Kiri did always have a certain star quality to him that naturally drew people to him so him being an idol seemed to always be in the cards for him. No matter how hard he tried not to. The star factor always found him.

Personality: mature, the dad friend who cares for his buddies almost more than himself, tries to hide Matt's song writing things but always fails, no matter what he'll be there for you, a very soft comforting presence no matter how bad things seem

Crush: Eichi Tenshouin

Role: Dancer, Choreographer

History: Shiru has always been the one person that can keep Matt and Kiri in line. No matter how wild. He also helped Matt through the loss of his mother. So Shiru being the one to keep both Matt and Kiri in check even as idols just made sense. Shiru's always been a great dancer and supported Matt's idol dream 100% of the way. But always worries about him whenever Matt overworks himself trying to complete his goal of being the best. It's hard for him to get Matt to stop but always wants to help any way he can to keep Matt from going full-blown workaholic to the point of no return. Keeping Matt in good health and hiding his song writing things whenever he knows Matt needs a break. Certified DILF? The jury's still out.
