Chapter 3

Nice going Ava.

"I-I'm so sorry." I said grabbing the notebook from him. I scrambled off the floor and ran away from the blue eyed boy.

"Wai-" I heard him yell but it was too late I was already pushing through the door on my way to my next class.

I wish I weren't so shy. I'm just so afraid that people will get close to me and than leave me. I once had a boyfriend while in middle school, and we dated for a really long time but one day he just up and left me using hurtful words against me. I cringe at the thought. From then on, I shut out any friends I did have and became my lonely self.

I sat down in an empty seat and did the same thing for the next few periods I had left until lunch and after. Aka going over rules.

Lunch came and I decided to avoid the cafeteria. I just walked to the library and sat in the back drowned in books. There weren't many people in there and I was very thankful for that.

Soon the day was over and I was getting on the bus. I got home and sighed sitting on my bed.

I thought of the mysterious boy I bumped into today..

I couldn't get over that girl I bumped to in the halls this morning. She didn't seem to notice me throughout the rest of the day after our encounter even though she has a few classes with me.

Gosh, she was beautiful.

Wait, what? I don't even know her. She doesn't even know me, why am I thinking about her..

I just couldn't get that mysterious girl I bumped into today out of my head..

I decided to get my mind off the boy and go on a walk, I think we past a little playground on the bus ride home.

I grabbed my keys and phone and left on my adventure.

I got to the park and noticed a few people. I sat on the swing, plugged in some music and swung for a little.

My legs got tired and I decided to walk down the path that was leading from the park exit.

I was minding my own business, listening to music when someone bumped me causing me to fall over.

I landed with an oomf.

"Oh my gosh-I" the person said.

We both looked at each other and stared for what seemed like an eternity. It was the mysterious boy I bumped to into the hall.

"Why does it seem like we always me this way?" I cracked a joke.

He laughed.

"It's always my fault but hey maybe it's a sign." He winked. I laughed.

"I'm Ava." I said shocked that I was actually comfortable around the blue eyed boy. I'm never like this.

"Hayes" He replied.

I stuck my hand out to shake his but his actions caught me by surprise. He wrapped his arms around my waist as he pulled me into a hug. I wrapped mine around his neck.

"What is this for?" I mumbled against his chest.

"Because I keep hurting such a beautiful girl like you." He said.

I looked into his eyes and shook my head looking down. He's probably only saying that because he doesn't know me.

"Hey.." He lifted my chin up.

"Don't doubt yourself." He finished. I nodded and smiled hugging him more.

He gave good hugs...

Wow I just met this kid today by bumping into him twice and here we are already hugging. I hope we become friends.. I haven't had one and I had a feeling he'd be a very good one.

"I should get going." I said pulling away from his embrace.

I started walking away back to the apartments.

Hayes jogged his way towards me.

"Wait can I walk you home? Where do you live?" He asked

"Brookstone Apartments." I said.

"Hey my house is right around the corner from there!" He exclaimed.

I laughed at how excited he sounded.

"Cool." I said

On the way home we got to know each other a little but it was shortly interrupted because we got to my apartments.

"See you tomorrow at school Ava." Hayes said hugging me bye.

"See ya Hayes!" I waved. He winked.

I felt the heat rising to my cheeks and I quickly turned away. I ran up to my apartment and went into my room.

I couldn't get Hayes out of my head..
