Oh well you've already made your bed and you have to sleep in it. Even if the shards of your broken heart stab you every time you try to get comfortable. But damn are the shards sharp.

          Your hands shake reading over Theo's text. Tearing welling up in your eyes turning your phone off, and looking once more at the sad face sitting on the patio.

Days began to blend soon after that. Summer felt like it was a prison sentence, long and lonely. Yet fall semester was rolling around and returning to college, giving you the hope to escape those sad puppy eyes that only you could see. Attached to the large hard looking ex- special oops. It also will allow you to avoid your shitty fake boyfriend.

Theo been coming around a lot, now more than when you two were actually dating. Though it's probably has to do with the fact that he plans all these 'dates' all the family appearances, and just how much you two 'love one another'.  Yet because of that, frank appears less. Giving your dad piles of excuses to your understanding father. Only you know the truth, Frank Castle hates your guts and never wants to see you again. Justifiably so you don't nor could you ever blame him.

Days of of fake dating Theo passes and your mother doesn't pick up the practiced smile as Theo comes from behind your arms wrapping around your middle, head resting  on your shoulder. She doesn't pic up on how ridge you go from it or how Theo whispers in your ear " Fucking relax" before placing a kiss on your cheek.

Your dad may not notice the forced lean you do into Theo's hold. Yet he does pick up on the dark hue which adorn your under eyes.

" you been sleeping good honey?" His question laced with co cern and care. Your heart beats a little daft looking your dad eye to eye; but you just hum softly

" yea, just a little stressed with starting fall semester; I guess" you look down at Theo's arms still around you. Bile almost rising up your throat, and just like always Theo begins to talk.

"No need to worry 'baby' I'll come to visit you ever weekend" he clutches you tighter. him calling you that sounds wrong his voice is too high pitched, the way he held you was off. Every glance you took at him you expect a different face. You hope to meet those deep brown eyes, yet you never do.

Your mom chimes in sweetly agitating, wiggling her brows " you know I had those same eye bags when we started dating"
Your dad cringes wt the thought and you follow while Theo and your mom just laugh with one another.

Time passes, and you return to campus. Genuine relief washes over you, something you never expected so happy to be away from home. The first week back has been normal, ice breakers in your new classes.
Though you've been trying to avoid your room mate Antonia like she's the plague knowing her and knowing how well she knows you. She'll take one look at you at know what you've been doing all summer break. While she was out of reach in the mountains with no cell service.

Finally Saturday comes but it seems your luck of avoiding her has just ran out. You open your dorm room and her light hazel eyes flick up at you then she's on you pulling you into a bear hug.

"Oh I've fucking missed you, summer felt so long without you. Well- without any cell
Service too for that matter." She squeezed tight and for some reason you felt the urge to cry. You don't but you can't feel the storm brewing, you hug back instantly murmuring back what she more or less. When you finally pull away she smiles at you, her eyes soft.
