Sana pov:
I followed this Sternritter towards the room I would be staying in. As usual, everything was silent except for the sound of our footsteps as we walked through the huge corridors.
"Say, Askin?" I finally broke the silence. "Huh?" He tilted his head back to see me but we didn't stop walking. "I was wondering.....you guys are Quincys but what's with the alphabets? Yours is D right? Is it for some kind of special power?"
He watched me silently for a minute before turning in front again. "You're observant, I'll give ya that. I'm not really into all these finicky details though....its too much of a hassle. But I'll tell you the basic idea." I raised my brow. He kind of reminded me of Stark....the laid back type definitely.
"Yhwach himself is responsible for naming us. He's the one who's strengthened each of the Sterneitters' unique power. Mine is D, the Deathdealing. I have the ability to perfectly calculate the lethal dose of any substance I've consumed. So I can tell the exact amount required to cause death and I can increase or decrease it as I see fit. For example, by consuming blood, I can decrease the lethal dosage of blood in my opponent making it fatal to them. That's why I was still alive when Yhwach found me and assigned me as one of his elite imperial guards."
Wow....so each person had a unique power. I guess it was similar to a Zanpakuto. I wouldn't dare to mention that though, after all Quincys hated shinigami.
"What about Haschwalth san? He's second in command so he should be pretty powerful too." "Haaah ah! You ask too many questions!" He said slightly annoyed. I rolled my eyes. Everyone isn't lazy like him. Besides, I was going to be here a while so I should have some basic knowledge on these guys too, right?
"Captain Haschwalth is kind of unique. He didn't become part of the Sternritter because of power. He's the other half of Yhwach....unlike the rest of us, he cant use reishi from our surroundings and create his own Heilig Bogen. But appaarently, he's trained really hard for many years to become excellent at archery and sword fighting. No one can win against his physical strength. Also, as I said earlier, he is Yhwach's other half. When Yhwach rests, the captain takes his place as Sternritter A. He's like Yhwach in terms of abilities too.....he can give others strength. Just being in his presence makes us powerful with each passing minute."
"Ah...." I just nodded when he was done explaining things. I didn't really understand much of what he said though. I didn't know much about Quincy to begin with, I don't think there's any point in confusing myself with details I wouldn't understand. I had got the basic idea of how powers were distributed in the Sternritter. I guess that was enough information for now.
When we reached the place I would be staying in, Askin opened the door and held out his hand dramatically indicating me to enter first. I huffed out a short laugh with a shake of my head and walked in. He followed soon after and when I looked around inside, millions of memories flooded my mind.
The room had a couch with two pillows and a blanket, a table, and two chairs. The room was huge and opened up to a balcony. The same balcony where Sousuke always sat and gazed over Hueco Mundo. That single chair there and the circular marking on the floor beside it where he used to keep the Hougyoku.
I smiled as I looked around the room. "Well, this is your room now. Don't try anything silly as escaping cuz I'll have to kill ya then. I'm nicer than the others though, I kill my prey without making em suffer much." I ignored as Askin went on with rules and such. I put my bag down on the couch and walked to the balcony slowly, eyeing the chair.
